Serious (ok, not really) question....
Would you ever date someone who had the same name as one of your siblings? Or would that be too weird?

No, I would never date a "Karen".....not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don't have any siblings, but it would be a little weird. My aunt married someone with the same name as her brother though.

In my family, including in-laws, we have Gene and Jean (and at one point I dated a Gina), and Chris and Kris.

My parents will hit 50 years in January, and my mom's name is the same as my dad's (now-estranged) sister.

I know what you mean - it would depend a little on how unique/common the name is in general - if your sister is the only Sheherazade that you've ever met - dating someone with that name might seem weird - but a Kathy - there's so many of those that you've probably known and been friends with that it might not even be a thought.

I wouldn't be weird until you screamed it out during..... well, you know.
With the names in my family, it would damn near be impossible.

Better yet, would you date someone with the same familty name as your own (unrelated, obviously
)? I once had a colleague whose wife and he shared the surname "Murray". I would imagine that the issue comes up frequently with common surnames such as "Smith" or "Jones".

I don't know, a girl name Frisky sounds like she has some potential.

I didn't date a girl once because she had the same name as my ex-wife.
I don't think I could ever date someone with the same name as my mom.

hahahahahaha
I know a guy who was married for a year, got a divorce and then about 2 months later married another lady with the same first name. I asked him if he was trying to save money on wedding invitations.. needless to say I wasn't invited.

Both would be super weird for sure, but I don't think I could date a girl with the same name as my ex-wife...that would be too weird.

that wouldn't be weird. "Ummm... so when we're doing stuff, you mind if i call you by a completely different name? Ok, cool."
i met someone that had the same name, but it's just one of those things that crossed my mind if anything ever happened (which it won't). I really have no intention on doing it, but just thought it would be weird.

i would think dating someone w/ the same name as your ex would be ok (granted that they're not a psycho).
I think anyone who's in your immediate family would be a little strange.

I'd much rather go out with a girl that had the same name as my sister, rather than my ex. Everybody is different I guess, but I was with her for like 8 years...I would find it kinda weird.

I said nickname, not give her another name. Sweetheart. Sweety. Bunny. Pookie. Hey, you. Baby. Ho.
