I for one and half Irish half English. On my father's side.....during the potato famine.
Who else in here is of Irish ancestory?

My Grandma on my father's side was part French, but aside from that I'm all Irish. I guess even I'm not perfect.

I do have Irish blood, but I'm not sure about the amount. It remains a mystery to me even after finding my birthparents at age 28 (I was adopted as a newborn).
My biological grandmother on my birthmother's side was half-Irish, so that would make me 1/8.
Meanwhile, my birthfather was raised in an Irish family in Chicago, although his mother was of German ancestry...making him half-Irish... thus making me an additional 1/4 Irish for a grand total of 3/8.
HOWEVER - is he really Irish at all? Apparently there's a family secret, and he may be Cherokee rather than Irish... or mixed Cherokee/Irish from that side of the family. I'm almost certain one of those two scenarios is correct, which reduces the amount of my Irish blood.
There had been extensive research on FlyinM's family the last few years and it was confirmed last year that we are Irish on both sides. Explains the love of Irish whiskey.

Yup. Great-grandparents emigrated from Ireland. My mom's side is all Irish. So I make sure I wear sunscreen whenever I go to the St Patrick's day parade.

I'm too much in my blood to keep track of. But I have at least one irish-born ancestor from each side, a McCabe, and O'Leary. The rest is norwegian, german, french, iroquois, and a bunch of other crap.
