I think that exoskeletal devices like that could be a real boon to those with trouble walking - for example, Parkinson's patients who are able to walk but have trouble with getting started - the tug might be just what is needed. Same for MS patients who are losing strength but crutches are not a suitable assist and a wheelchair/scooter is not yet a requirement. All sorts of useful potential in assitance devices like that - I'm glad Honda is putting the money into that development - probably an offshoot of their robotics program.
They already have one meant to assist patients (which is an awesome development).
This one was built specifically to help "healthy" people walk. People who don't have trouble walking.
In other words, if you feel that walking is too much effort, never fear! For this magical device will take the effort out of this strenuous activity.

Well, they actually said that the previous device helps people relearn how to walk, this one gives people more of a boost when actually walking, even healthy people. So, it's more like, it can be used like Lisa says, or also by healthy people. Same could be said for pretty much anything else.
I don't think anyone questions the use for the disabled. The key words here are "even healty people." I see quite a few healthy people already using motorized chairs. Now if we could only develop a machine that would think for these people and allow them to understand that it is unwise to use one of these devices unless you actually need help to walk. Prediction? In 5-10 years, parents will be buying this thing for their kids as "cool" Christmas gifts.

I think if you're healthy enough to walk fine, and lazy enough to prefer wedgies to walking… more power to ya, sikko. sheesh. the fetishes some people have…

Exactly - it's use for rehab and mobility is wonderful. For healthy LAZY people, not so good...
At least if it's a cool gift for kids, they'll finally have to pull their pants up!
Kids still don't pull their pants up where you are? that's so '05.
We must be backwards around here... I hit the gym today during prime teen-time (right after school)... I saw more asses hanging out and shorts pulled up to just below the cheeks... ugh!
