Not sure about yours, but when I would view movies on my computer it would lock up on occasion. I have cable Internet, but I guess it would get bogged down. It got too frustrating for me to watch.

I've heard good things. I probably won't buy one because I have an Xbox 360 and netflix "free" if you have Xbox Live Gold ($50/yr).
Bad things I've heard, fast forward and rewind can be a pain. No chapter marks like a DVD.
There are some Blu-Ray players (coming out?) that have Netflix, so that might be an option if you want Blu-Ray. I can find links if you want.
Personally I don't watch enough movies to be tempted for $99, but $50 is almost there... so I'll probably try the xbox thing. And I mean, the 3 out at a time plan is enough to keep me in movies.. not that I don't watch a lot of movies. :P
You don't have to pay anything more for this service if you already have xbox live gold and netflix, basically. At least, that better be the case cuz otherwise I'm really shooting it down.
Yes, sorry, didn't mean to say netflix was free. If you have Xbox Live Gold, and are already paying for Netflix you don't need to pay anything more to stream movies to your Xbox.
This is as of the 19th when the new software comes out.
I've had "lock up" problems with Netflix instant before, but I'm just assuming it's because my computer is 5 years old and never had a top-notch graphics card, etc.
For me, $99 for the box and $8.99 per month would be worth it... at least after the first year for the $$$ and immediately for the ability to watch in bed rather than at my desk.
As long as there aren't any known glitches that would make it worth while to wait until they improve it.
HD is probably the only thing feature-wise that might be worth waiting on. I doubt it, though, they're only rolling it out on the 19th with a few hundred movies. Who knows how long before Roku does an HD player, if at all.
Just get a cable to go from your computer to your tv. Not sure about desktops, but most laptops have this ability I would think.

A friend of mine got the LG Blu Ray/Netflix player and loves it. Says it's easy to use and the quality is great.
There are some good prices out there right now. We just got ourselves a Samsung LCD for Xmas and are now thinking about players. My old DVD player doesn't accept HDMI, so with the $$ saved on our TV we're thinking about the Samsung Blu Ray that streams Netflix in HD.

Make sure that if you're a big movie watcher with Netflix that you get the streaming player. Netflix is purposely making long waits on their new BR titles and the CEO sounds like he really doesn't have a problem with it.

Thanks for the advice Nick. I'll probably wait awhile and do more research before picking anything up.
