Besides the fact she makes no effort for me, She sucks.
I found a house... ehm I FOUND IT not her.... that i was really interested in.
It was being sold AS IS hint hint foreclosed
Besides it being foreclosed it was exactly what i was looking for. the right amout of acreage, the right area, the right asking price so on.
I asked her to get some additional information for me and she said its being sold as is and she was very "leary" of it. WTF!!!!
Ok so i was like shes the expert and she knows what to be Leary of
2 weeks later i decide to drive by the home... WOW i want it soo bad
So i call the guy that is selling it. Turns out everything she is leary of is because its in foreclosure. I contact my agent again and tell her i want to view the inside and we are serious about putting in a offer.
IT TAKES HER 3 WEEKS TO GET BACK TO ME!!!!!! 3 WEEKS!!!!!
So i decided to call the agent that is selling it and turns out someone made an offer just 2 DAYS ago.
Of course she's leary... A forclosed property has less commissions for her. Fire her immediately and find someone interested in helping you find the best deal for you!
Three weeks? That's ridiculous. I'd have been calling back after a few days saying, "Hey, didn't you get my message?"
It's a little tough -- practically impossible, really -- to avoid foreclosures and "as-is" listings in today's market. No reason you can't take a look and see for yourself what kind of condition the property's in. Sometimes a foreclosure has been trashed, or vandalized, or worse (I could tell you some stories about my own house hunting the past 9 months), sometimes it's actually pretty decent.
I can sympathize, Chera. I just lost out on a deal on a house here, too. Get yourself an agent who actually knows how to return calls.

Sorry that it went that way. Dump her immediately and solicit some recommendations from friends, coworkers, etc for an agent that they had a good experience with. Your current one is a waste of your time.

Did you sign anything that makes you have to stick with her? If not just let her alone and move on. Call the seller again and let him know you have an offer ready as a back up for him. I have ended up with a house once that someone else already had an offer in on due to them not following up as they shold and the seller called me.

I called him and told him a back up offer is ready if the deal falls through.
Fingers crossed.

Do return her calls so you can enjoy telling her why you are using another agent.

Gonna be a meanie here...
Don't blame your friend. Your friend might have had a good experience (for example at that time the agent may have been really hustling to make sales, (it may have been a better commission deal, etc).
Silly you
I am afraid I agree here. You waited three weeks on an agent. You cannot blame your friend for that. You should have gotten an agent by the third day....
Anyway, lesson learned
Good luck. BTW remember it is a BUYERS market, patience and if this one does not work out, there will be others!!
Good luck
Cheers
