Smile Extreme Makeover: Charlotte

Hey Guys,
Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming to Charlotte and I was thinking about volunteering to help out. Has anyone worked on one of these houses?

We were going to when they were here, but the builders teamed up and had the professionals covered early in the process. The other volunteer slots filled fast and they ended up turning a huge numbers of volunteers away. The builder had a website that coordinated just about all of the volunteer work. Good luck!

yeah I signed up on the builders' website but wasn't sure what the chances of actually getting a call were.

We don't 'makeover' houses here in Charlotte. We simply tear them down and put up castles.

Only if you can afford it. Otherwise it is like living in Stuart Littles house in the city.

My sister in law lives in MP. She as a 1300 sq ft ranch sitting between two tear downs that are over 5000 sg ft. each. It looks funny.

Interestingly, the Extreme Makeover house will likely be the exact opposite. 5000 sq ft, surrounded by 1300 sq ft homes.

My sister and brother in law just moved there, I might have to look some of you up when I visit.
