Default I'm in Norway!!!

That is all.

Not really, this place is amazingly beautiful. I'm tired though. That was a long flight and I didn't sleep a wink. This is going to be a great 9 days.

Scandinavia is cool, I've been to Finland once or twice, and Sweden about six-ish times.

Haven't been since 05 now though! And now that I've moved from my parents out I'm kinda screwed for holidays to Sweden hah!

I'm impressed with your dedication... logging into JP's shortly upon arrival.

Good thing you didn't sleep on your flight, it increases your risk of blood clots.

Cool choice of places to spend 9 days in!

Awesome! Find some oddly-named Norwegian blondes for me.

Where are you going to?
Norway is seriously the most beautiful country in Europe (at least if you love deep fjords & (therefore seemingly) high mountains. Plus the best looking guys & gals (again, if you like tall and slim people) The only downside is that everything is really expensive.

Thanks, everyone! I'm having a blast. Howwever, my internal clock is all screwed up now! It's just after 4 AM here and I'm wide awake.

Ben, I'm not sure if I'm anywhere near where he lives. Plus, I kind of like that hat he wears.

I'm taking plenty of pictures but not the ones I think you're referring to!

Espi, I'm staying in a town just outside of Oslo. This weekend we're headed to the west coast so I can get a good feel for the fjords and mountains. And we may even take a day trip next week over to Sweden!

Eh, I already got one, but another can't hurt, right? (FYI, my girlfriend is an oddly-named Norwegian, even though she was born in Minneapolis. She said her parents originally considered naming her Solveig.)

Dave, I'm getting a lot of hill work in, that's what! Actually, the time was right to take a vacation after busy season. I'd never been here so I decided to come visit my aunt and uncle.

Karky, I'm in Drammen. Do you know it? And I heard that about the weather. We also wanted to do some fishing. However, down here, not all the ice is off the lakes but it's not safe to go on either.

Yeah I know Drammen, been there many times! My dad has a friend there and we used to go once every summer for a BBQ Beautiful place.
Be glad the ice isn't safe enough to go onto, ice fishing can be a very cold and boring experience

Where in the west coast are you going? Bergen?

No, we didn't go that far west. We spent the weekend in Hemsedal and took a day trip to the tiny town of Flåm. From there we took the train up to the even tinier town of Myrdal. Talk about beautiful views of the mountains and the fjord!!!

Today we went into Oslo to do tourist-y stuff and will do the same again tomorrow. What a cool city. Several times today I found myself thinking how amazing it was that I was here. I'm loving it.

I grew up in northern Minnesota. Ice fishing was a part of growing up. Looks like if this warmer weather holds we'll be able to get the boat out on the water to at least throw a line in before I have to leave for home.

Cool! That's gotta be the best way to visit Norway: Visiting some of the smaller towns.
It's really weird for me as a Norwegian to hear someone from the US say Oslo is a cool city :p since it is very small compared to a lot of US cities :p

Well, I'm back home. I have to take some time to sort through the hundreds of pictures I took and to think through my experiences to write them down, but I hope to relate some of my travels with anyone who is interested within the next few days.
