Comeon' admit that guilty pleasure. Given the fact that one of his band members died recently, i thought it a good time to start this. So, what is everyone's favorite springsteen album?
And i know that some people don't dig him, but i personally think that his songwriting is awesome. Sure, some of the music is cheesy, but other times, it's awesome.

I'll admit it, i think the River is my favorite. I always hated born in the USA. I thought it was a pretty poor album, but enjoyed some of the later tracks. The River was a double album, and while some of the songs sucked on it, i thought it was his best effort.
Nebraska is also good, Born to Run is a classic...

He's great at translating his acoustic roots influences into contemporary tunes.

I confess I was a Springsteen denier until I was 30. I had this weird idea that Springsteen made cool music for uncool people. Obviously, my perception of "cool" was pretty fucked up. It never occurred to me that the people I knew who liked Springsteen were smart, had good taste in music, and didn't really give a shit what anybody thought of their taste in music.
I never had anything against his music, FWIW. Born to Run had been all over the radio when it came out in 1975, the year I graduated from high school. I liked everything I heard. I just didn't see myself as the kind of guy who owned Springsteen albums.
The first one I bought was Tunnel of Love, which probably isn't even in his top 5. But I was so impressed I went back and bought almost everything in his catalogue, and then bought the next few when they came out. I met my wife when I was 36, and she, it turned out, was a major Springsteen fan. Like Jane, she'd been to a bunch of his concerts and had all his albums.
In retrospect, I think I really cheated myself out of some great music by not jumping on the bandwagon when I first realized I liked his songs.
(BTW, I voted for Born to Run, mainly because of "Thunder Road." How does a guy who's getting laid like a rock star write a line like "you ain't a beauty but hey you're all right"?)
I really like his new album Magic, specifically Terry's Song about losing a close friend. You can detect hints of his past albums and eras in specific songs, which is pretty cool too. I currently have it in my car CD player and since being inserted there, my team has been playing well and, seeing as I'm a superstitious baseball player, it'll probably stay there for as long as we keep playing well. With that not on the list, (and even if it was), I have to go with Born to Run. I love all the songs and it's one of those CDs that I could listen to for weeks.

Like Lou I was never a big fan when he first started out. I liked the songs I heard but never bought any of his albums. After The River came out a friend bought tickets to one of his concerts and told me I had to go. Bruce and the Band blew the roof off the Garden that night and it's still one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I've been a fan ever since that night.
If this song doesn't get you moving you're dead.

It turned out to be his cousin/assistant stage manager. Only 36 and found in his hotel room.
I already got refunded (well, will get refunded) so I hope that he does reschedule. But my hopes aren't high.
i don't think they officially canceled the one i went to. I believe they just rescheduled it for the end or a break in the tour. It was "The Rising" tour in late 2002 i believe.
I wouldn't put it past him adding on a date at the end of the tour though. He could have just canceled the Indy one, but instead rescheduled.
