Default Pet peeves

Because I'm grumpy today:

You L-O-S-E weight. This makes your pants become L-O-O-S-E.

Know it, learn it, live it. For the love of whomever....PLEASE.

DUPLICATE THREAD ALERT!

As the chief of the JPF Duplicate thread police, I am afraid I am going to have to put you under arrest Ms. TKinsley.

As of now, bail is 200 pushups and you have the right to a lawyer. There are plenty here.

I look forward to scheduling your court appearance.

Have a nice day.

If it can be proven that she plagiarized then she should have to do some time. However, if she can prove to the court that she independently came with this concept -- much like Newton and Leibnitz creating "the calculus" at the same time completely independently of each other -- then she should receive a full pardon. Intent is the burden of proof of the accusers.

Hear ye, hear ye... All rise, the honorable Judge JP will preside.

May I hear the first witness?

The crown would like to call Alcoholiday to the stand, your honor.

Alcoholiday, as the creator of the original pet peeves thread, how do you feel about the sudden emergence of this duplicate thread?

We do not plea bargain.

However, since you have pled guilty, we may go lighter on the sentencing. My chief adviser is Canadian, so I have no idea what he will suggest.

People who can't spell PLAGIARISM when accusing others of it are like the PLAGUE - slowly contaminating the rest of us.

My pet peeve: BICEPT. There should be a law: you can't get bigger ones until you learn to spell them.

Lose and loose is bad, but so is then mixed up with than. I hate that mistake almost as much!

Quote:
When comparing one thing with another you may find that one is more appealing “than” another. “Than” is the word you want when doing comparisons. But if you are talking about time, choose “then“: “First you separate the eggs; then you beat the whites.” Alexis is smarter than I, not “then I."
