Thank you all. I shall miss seeing you this year at summit. Wife has a trip scheduled and m in law needs someone here. My sister looks after my mom, also 91. We love having our mothers alive, even if decrepit and a little dingey. And with our help they and we can pretend they are independent, both living in apartments next to our house or my sisters. This forum has crept (power lifted) its way into my life. You all have become special.

I got an interesting present today, not entirely welcome. After putting on some bacon, I ran out to check something with our gardener and when I got back 'fire on the range.' Yoicks. I got it out, but after more fully assessing the damage realized that the range and exhaust fan were totalled as well as paint job in corner of kitchen, hence the entire 18 by 29 common room. Insurance guy will probably come tomorrow. Bad senior moment.

Well at least it wasn't the candles on your birthday cake that was the cause of the fire... Hopefully you'll get things back in order soon.

We'll miss you there, too. Hopefully, next year.

So, bacon = bad? So much for low carb being good, right?
