Hi Guys,
We just moved in last weekend and have been cooking on our new cook top stove, but stuff sticks to it SO easily. I've tried lysol wipes, soap and scrubbing pads (but i don't want to scratch it), 409, fantastic, even windex - but I CAN'T get it clean! Any ideas? Thanks so much!

There are non-abrasive cleaners made especially for that purpose.

ahh good to know!! I haven't ventured down the "cleaning supplies" aisle yet, my Mom stocked the house so we were using that stuff. Car wax?? hmm! Interesting! Yeah ours is black - ugh! I'm not sure what's worse, pulling the coils and tin things off of a real stove, or cleaning the cook top.
Or you could ditch the cook top and get a real stove, i.e. gas. Seriously, on the cook top that I used to have I had good luck with the specialty cleaners made just for sook tops. I don't recall the exact brand, but the one that Mark posted above looks like a decent product.

Gina, I misunderstood what you were talking about. You mean the flattop, smooth ones with the heat elements under that smooth surface? I know nothing about those and Easy Off might be horrible for them.
trust me, i'd love to - but we're up to our ears in home improvement projects right now that changing out the stove is very very low on the priority list. LD, yep one of those guys, it's cool cause they each have 2 different sizes for pots but still a pain to clean.
Get the cooktop wipes and use them every day. Then periodically scrape off the built up stuff with a razor blade and use the cream cleaner (like the one posted above).
Ha ha OG. : P Yeah Egham, I think it was just water from the bottom of the pots that left the marks. (The pots have been in storage so we figured we should wash them before using them) ahhh my insides tingle at just the idea of using a razor blade -- maybe I'll make Casey do that! Cook top wipes?! Hmm... I might have to get those - I didn't know they made them. Then again, I didn't know they had stainless steel wipes and those have been a Godsend!
