Half of U.K. men would swap sex for 50-inch TV
Survey found that only a third of women would make the same trade
LONDON - Nearly half of British men surveyed would give up sex for six months in return for a 50-inch plasma TV, a survey — perhaps unsurprisingly carried out for a firm selling televisions — said on Friday.
Electrical retailer Comet surveyed 2,000 Britons, asking them what they would give up for a large television, one of the latest consumer “must-haves.”
The firm found 47 percent of men would give up sex for half a year, compared to just over a third of women.
“It seems that size really does matter more for men than women,” the firm said.
A quarter of people said they would give up smoking, with roughly the same proportion willing to give up chocolate.

I have a different take on this. The survey should have had two questions:
1) Would you trade six months of sex for a 50-inch plasma TV?
2) Have you had sex in the past six months?
I would bet that a lot of guys would have answered "no" to #2. And of those, almost all would have surely voted "yes" for #1, because they're not really giving up anything.
It's like if someone asked me if I would quit caligraphy for $1,000. No problem.

I'd add a couple more.
3) TV aside, are you likely to have sex in the next six months?
I'm just dating, and it's all wishful thinking, but I'm not giving up that slim chance...
4) If you count up six months of sex for you, does it come to a whole number?
If it's annual sex, then you have .5 sex in six months. Less than .25 sex? Just give the poor the guy the tv.
What these men seem to be saying is that sex is momentary; sex is fleeting; sex is breif, but a good TV will last for years and probably give you just as much pleasure.

Question: What do the English use for birth control?
Answer: Their personalities.
Ah, so that's where i'm going wrong
In response to the question, it's 50 -50. I don't currently have a girlfriend so that limits me to some random girl in a nightclub. It would be quick, easy but totally pointless/meaningless. I'd trade 10 one night stands for a 50" Tv (probably $2500 here).
Now if I were to get with someone on a regualr basis (say aqua instructor) the T.V goes out the window

exactly what I thought too. Does this mean that maybe a bigger % of the women asked are having sex regularly, thus, they've got something to lose? And since I guess it's about 50/50 man/woman in England, that would mean that some of the girls would have to be using the same partners. This all backs up my belief that all men are whores!
