Well, no wonder she bejiggles all over the place when she runs ... she's wearing a flouncy little lacy bra ... when you have jugs like that, you gotta strap 'em down.

Then it would just be a running video and not porn

That being said:
1. I concur with the sound thing. Mute it. She's annoying (and therefore totally unattractive to me whenever sound comes out of her mouth).
2. My knees hurt just from watching her running form. No wonder she's so bouncy.

Those things are gonna be down around her ankles in 5 years if she doesn't get some proper support. Ouch!

They have studly people out there (such as Eva T) and they basically ignore her for a girl that hasn't been doing X-fit very long that has massive boobies. It's almost like real life right?

I like knowledge and skill. I like boobies. I'm torn.

Maybe if they just bought Eva T a massive set of boobies they would kill two birds with one stone. Food for thought.

Hey Kuri,

Isn't this in your neck of LAlaland? You could go down there and help in the documentary.

This is the last in a long line of this type of clip from the Xfit crew. Remember the 'mother/daughter' one? It must be some requirement that if you are a female with a C cup of bigger, you need to wear something totally unsupportive while you do the routines.

On a more serious note to kuri and all of the other professionals: did anyone ever figure out if there was any kind of rhyme or reason to the program (and the order) or if it was just random hard stuff that happened to get results if you were lucky?

Crossfit cracks me up. Not the workouts... they seem like they're fine enough for some people. But the "Crossfit Legend" thing made me chuckle... and then we have this goofy little gal with big tits yammering on... what exactly is the point? (Other than simply increasing viewers?) She's plenty cute, but there's loads of hotter women doing way hotter things out there on the internet!

That Eva T chick looks like she'd pound that little girl into the dirt.

No, not my neighborhood but there is an affiliate just down the street. The people that run it seem cool enough.

btw there are WAY hotter women at the gym I work at.

They obviously don't become hot just because it's Crossfit. Eva T. came in as an Olympic athlete with a winning ticket in the genetic lottery.

Funny you should mention that. When I saw Boyle speak recently he remarked that Cosgrove had tracked 40 days worth of WODs and couldn't detect any sort of organized programming.

And that's my main gripe. When I checked out the local affiliate they said I couldn't come in and train on my own, but you can only train with the group and everyone does the same WOD.

Well, what if one person is a 30 year old amateur athlete and another is a 50 year old desk jockey with shoulder and back issues?

Both are gonna be told to do intervals on a C2 rower and power cleans?

Chris, do your concerns go beyond the affiliate's rules to the whole CrossFit concept? I know that you did the WOD regularily for quite along time and apparently liked it back then. I'm just curious what you're thinking now.

Yes, it's not just this affiliate. From what I've seen it's just become a money maker with certs for everything you can think of at $1k, and less devoted towards advancing the science. I heard the big guy isn't in SC anymore and it's not clear how much he even has to do with developing workouts- which haven't seemed to progress.

Then there is the whole agree with us on everything or we'll attack you thing. I've seen underhanded digs at affiliates that choose to focus on other modalities - which I would think should be one of the strengths of an organization.

I certainly had fun doing the workouts, but eventually wanted to focus on specific qualities better addressed with other protocols.

Thanks for the response Chris. It is interesting to see others' views of the 'program', espcially Alwyn, who I hold in the highest regard when it comes to programming.

Like you, I certainly enjoyed doing the workouts, but had a horrible nagging sense that there was no rhyme or reason behind it and that it wasn't doing anything to address the individual issues I had. I love the idea and the hard work, but as I get older, I need to train smarter and more precisely, not like a 25 year old with perfect musculo-skeletal balance and no history of injuries. But I'm sure there is an appeal to many here (like it was for me) to doing good old-fashioned pull-ups and Oly lifts and butt-kicking running as a workout.

I should've not ignored the warning sign in their 'mascot' Pukie the Clown and members bragging how a workout was so great that it made them vomit. Still, I'll credit Xfit with providing me with some great Oly lift vid clips from Mike Burgener to learn from.

I've certainly noticed an increase in the "Cert Thing". But, I also understand that they deserve to make money somewhere. After all how many CF Journals and Pukie T Shirts can you sell. I'm surprised that they don't have more of a franchise based business model instead of a cert for everything imaginable and then go do what you want with it plan.

We could debate the efficiency of the whole program forever. I'm doing it for probably the next 3 or 4 months, mostly for fat loss and because I enjoy the variety. If all goes as planned I'll switch to a more traditional hypertrophy program when i reach my BF goal. Thanks for your input.

I listened to Alwyn on the Fitcast recently. One of his comments concerned replacing traditional running or cycling based HIIT with resistance based exercises as the way of the future. Isn't that what many of the Metcon XFit workouts do?

that's what I do. I do complexes on my cardio days, something I've found is that it's much more intense doing complexes with 170 bpm than running at 170 bpm.. it's weird, but there is a huge difference! I can do steady state cardio for quite a while at 170 (jogging on treadmill) but at the end of a complex where my HR went up to 170 I'm half dead..

I am? I do find it pretty weird.. I'm not even going all that fast.. when saying quite a while, I guess I have to define that :p After my complexes I usually jog for like 12-15 min, SS. HR keeps in the upper 160s/170 (after taking a while to work itself up there)

are the crossfit people certified to teach the oly lifts?

I see a lot of videos of people doing them on youtube with just awful form. Not to say that everyone does this, just wondering if people are actually certified to teach these, or if they just get a crossfit cert, and can coach whatever.
