I haven't had this problem before. I just opened my gmail account and instead of seeing a full screen I only get a little 2"x2" box of my account in the upper left corner. I've tried reloading, refreshing, signing out and back in, etc. Nothing. It gives me scroll bars along the bottom and side but nothing I do gets me back to the full screen.
Anyone have any ideas? Like I said, after years of having the account this is the first I've seen this.
I checked my Gmail and didn't have any trouble. I checked with both IE and Firefox.
Has anything changed on your system recently? Are you disallowing JavaScript or anything like that?

that's odd... haven't had that problem. I do have a couple weird things going on with gmail myself, and I know they recently had an update, so maybe that's why you're suddenly having problems. I'd actually report it to them and see if they have any ideas.
You've tried double clicking the title bar?
I've tried grabbing the corner of the browser window and resizing?
Selecting the system menu and choosing restore or maximize?

Yep, yep and yep.
thanks for the ideas guys. It's still the same today.
You might try clearing your cache and cookies. In the past, I've had problems viewing the regular gmail and had to use the HTML one instead. Clearing the cache and cookies always fixed it.
I've had what's happened to you happen to me before, but I don't remember exactly how I fixed it. Sorry

I had Gmail for two years and just abandoned it, due to a proliferation of spam. I've never seen what you're talking about, though.
In the last two years, gmail has let MAYBE three pieces of spam through their filters, and accidently filtered out MAYBE two pieces of non-junk mail. I'm really surprised!

I have an average of over 550 pieces of spam in my GMail spam folder at any given time. The day I signed up, I got 35. The first one within 10 minutes of signing up. I signed up, didn't use or give out the address to anyone or any site, and by the end of the day, I had 35 pieces of spam.

My double-secret Gmail addresses have never been spammed, only my main public one (probably 30-50 per day). Never had a non-spam email directed to spam first.

But LD, are they hitting your regular email box or just your spam folder? and if it's the latter, who cares?
True. But, sometimes new things get stuck in the spam folder. Like if you sign up for a newsletter or something. It might be days before you realize that you never got anything, then you have to search through 100+ spam messages to find the good one and "unspam it."
I've never had a problem with spam. I've gotten very little over the years I've had gmail and haven't had that much of a problem rescuing newsletters.

actually, my gmail used to get nothing. Then, i took a course for my masters where the teacher hosted an online class list, and posted all of our emails. My spam count skyrocketed. Jackass!

I purposefully use my gmail as my public address just because it's so good at filtering. I've only had to rescue about 5-6 emails from spam, and I've only had about the same number not get filtered out. Way better than mail.app. And by now my gmail addy is prolly all over the damn place, plus it's getting stuff forwarded to it from other emails like my websites. aoife=happy
