Zoints profiles!
Hey guys,
I just poked around and realized that very few of you are using your zoints profiles. Who has really utilized all the features of their profiles? I would like to go check some out that have really been worked on.
If you click on my profile link you can see an example of what I'm talking about. We should have some kind of contest for best zoints profile.
Also, if anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them. Is there a better social networking backbone that I might use than zoints?

Oh, I got my tongue peppered when I was a kid ... then I taught her how good it felt to swear some times ... of course, now she's worse than me!

When Joe Stankowski asked me to join his network he said:

Now if I could just figure out what to DO with this network...
I put a little time into setting up my profile when you first added it. But nobody looks at it or uses it really. So I haven't really worked on it any further. I'm with Joe. What do we do with it?

If there were a way to import data from other sites and applications (Facebook, Wordpress, etc), I'd be more inclined to use it. As it is, I maintain:
Facebook x 2 (personal and work)
Myspace x 2 (ditto)
LinkedIn (sorta)
Wordpress
Feedburner x 2 (blog and Google Reader Shared Items)
Between all those and this site, it's a wonder I get anything done

I'm on
LinkedIn for professional contacts. I have not looked into the Zoints. What can we do with it?

I prefer the old forum profiles. Now I have to go through Zoints to get there.

Agreed. Usually, I just want to see basic data, and the zoints profiles are practically empty.

If it's like MySpace, I think we're supposed to swear a lot all over it and post pictures of ourselves drunk, flashing our tattoos, etc.

I haven't furled or digged, but I really like del.icio.us for bookmarking stuff. Especially since it allows you to set up RSS feeds of bookmarks by topic. I'm using that for one of my classes to feed bookmarks into a widget on my class blog. Much easier than having to add links manually.
I haven't really used the Zoints profile feature either.

How many of you has CaptainSlater pimped his profile page to? I know Mahler and Galya and myself.
I couldn't have been signed on for more than 24 hours and someone is checking me out.
The Pink Stiletto chicks hit JP's profile with a "come visit us." JP, did you check them out?

Huh?
Are you talking about your zoints profile or some different site?

Well, if you go to the zoints website, it has an account for you. People have left comments there...
JPFitnessforum's Zoints Profile
And everyone who is apart of the jpfitness site or network has an account there as well.

I have no idea. I'm not really impressed either, but it may prove harmless since it doesn't carry over the JP profile. My profile there is blank.
I don't recall seeing your name there though, Egham.
Spoke too soon. I can search on your name and selecting it will bring me to your JPFitness public profile. At present, no harm is done.

That is surreal. It's not even mine. I don't have a "jpfitnessforums" address, let alone a profile by that name.

Well, it's our own little network over on Zoints. Mahler is there, so is Q and russ, canuckguy (anyone seen him recently?), spacecitypaula, outdoorboy, galya, a few others.
At present, I still don't understand how it works. I might just leave it alone.

I tried accessing it from another computer that doesn't automatically log me onto JP's.
I searched Zoints and clicked on "Egham" when it came up. It took me to JP's site which, fortunately, refused to let me see the profile; just as it does when you try to look at a profile without logging in.
At least that's some protection.

Something's not right.
Mahler is a man of surprises, but I think even he'd be surprised by that page setup.

I noticed a few of them had those backgrounds. See, I didn't even know that kind of profile modification was even possible.
