Any interest in forming a book discussion group?
Just thought I'd ask, since we are all so into training our bodies, it seems likely we'd want to do the same for our minds. That said, I think it might be interesting to form an online book group here. Any takers?

What kind of books? I know some people that won't read anything written before 1990... and other who won't read anything written after 1960. Just curious what general theme you might be considering.

Any really - the club I belong to in real life has no restrictions (save monetary ones, only paperbacks are generally considered). Past that we've had classic and modern literary fiction, mysteries, science fiction, poetry, and nonfiction books, like history books and science books.
Edited to add: and the books should be reasonably easy to get - that they're in print, that is.

I'd join. Most of my friends in the "real world" don't like to read, so this would be a nice change of pace.

If they're in paperback, then that's fine, but if you're talking the originals, send copies as I'd certainly appreciate one.

Let's not limit it to books. How about stories in general terms, so that way it includes short stories, flash fiction, etc.

Indeed - it could be anything, not limited to novels. I should've probably made that clear. I'm looking for something as open-ended as possible.

I'll do it periodically. I have book I want to finish before I start anything else so it will have to be after I do the Great Gatsby.

I'm not a slow reader, but I don't have that much time to read right now. If we knew, in advance, a few of the books and the schedule, I could plan accordingly and hit a book 3 or 4 down on the list. Then, I'd be ready.
Plus, that way I can skip the "classics" and the boring non-fiction crap.

Are Cliffs Notes allowed? That might be the only way I'd have time.
But, I'd love to join in when I can.
