Default Anyone ever have to have their Ps2 repaired?

I'm trying to find someone to fix my son's system, but man, seems to be impossible to find anyone that does that.

Anyone here ever get their system fixed somewhere? anywhere?

You could probably buy a used one for the same price as getting yours repaired.

And "No I've never had one repaired"

I think you may have to send it in to Sony. I'd check their website.

I was getting Disk Read errors on my PS2, I opened it up and tried a few fixes I found online to no avail so I called Sony and they told me to ship it to them and they would fix it (it was 2 years past warranty and I had opened it up) for the cost of shipping. I would just give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Also, if it is a DRE you can try switching the PS2 from Horizontal to Vertical or vice-versa, that worked for me on other occasions.

That harkens back to finding the sweet spot for inserting cartridges into the original Nintendo system. Nice to see how technology has advanced

Glad they are gonna take care of you. I have always had great experiences with Sony CS/Tech Support. Now you just need to take the plunge and join the rest of us with PS3s

I have to agree with sign. the ps3 is awesome. Just keep the ps2 for guitar hero (assuming you have it) because the controllers aren't compatible with the ps3.

PS3 is so much fun. Last night we downloaded and watched three movie trailers on it, in HD. Sometimes I even play games on it too.

it's a good thing my son doesn't read these posts, I'd never hear the end of it.

I want one bad. I'm still a little price sensitive since the family is getting a WII for Christmas.
