Default Oh No...Evel Knievel Died!

When I was a kid, Evel Knievel was THE coolest guy on the planet. I vividly remember his attempt to jump over the Snake River Canyon. I watched him on Wide World of Sports.

Rest in peace man.

You've gotta be kidding! I was just reading THIS yesterday!

Evel Knievel, Kanye West Settle Lawsuit Over Use of Knievel's Trademarked Image in Music Video

In this undated photo released by Island Def Jam Music Group, daredevil Robert Craig "Evil" Knievel and musician Kanye West pose for a photo at Knievel's home in Clearwater, Fla. Knievel and West have amicably resolved and dismissed the case, entitled Knievel and K and K Promotions v West, Roc-A-Fella Records, LLC, Chris Milk and AOL LLC, in connection with West's "Touch the Sky" video. Evel Knievel was the man. Every kid in the neighborhood would jump bikes off ramps trying to be just like him. He was one-of-a-kind.

My first reaction was - man, that sucks. But after reading a few news stories I guess it's a good thing. At least he's not in pain anymore.

I built a lot of very poorly engineered ramps and did some really stupid jumps on my Schwinn because of him, and hurt myself pretty bad a few times. But it was stuff I never would have thought of or dared if he hadn't been there first.

RIP, dude.

Oh no, I remember the 13 bus jump (unlucky it was) as one of the big "sporting events) gather around the tube for this one.

He was cool. Speaking of Wide World of Sports - I think the skier crash ties together a whole generation of sports fans (if you don't know what this means you ar ein the wrong generation) and I think Mutual of Omaha (leave the rest out for those who don't know LOL) is another .

Yup, he was. I remember so many of his jumps.

And Saturdays were never the same without the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Even with all the sports available on all the network and cable channels now, WWoS was the best for giving you the wide variety of sport in one place.

King Arthur: Old woman.
Dennis: Man.
King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?
Dennis: I'm 37.
King Arthur: What?
Dennis: I'm 37. I'm not old.
King Arthur: Well I can't just call you "man".
Dennis: Well you could say "Dennis".
King Arthur: I didn't know you were called Dennis.
Dennis: Well you didn't bother to find out did you?
King Arthur: I did say sorry about the "old woman", but from behind you looked...
Dennis: What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior.
King Arthur: Well I am king.
Dennis: Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.

Who made you king? I didn't vote for you.

You don't vote for your king!
