Today was the 52nd or 53rd consecutive year that the USAF Thunderbirds have done an airshow in Cheyenne during Frontier Days rodeo, and my six consecutive year watching them. I don't think it will ever get old.
My favorite part every year is when four planes are flying in formation out in front of the stands, holding your attention, then the other two come from behind at about 2,000' and going about mach .9. You know it's coming, you expect it, you can even turn around and see them coming, but you're still going to reflexively duck anyway.
They show up here on Sunday every year and start practicing for the Wednesday show, and the flight patterns take them right over my house. Good entertainment for a couple hours.
If you get a chance to take in a
show this summer I highly recommend it, well worth the parking and traffic hassles.
