Default Cool kids stay home on Saturday night

So I'm stuck at home, doing online classes required for work that are due Monday. But in a couple hours I'm going to the $2 theater to see Ocean's Thirteen.

Who else is as awesome as I?

I worked till 12 and am now drinking a beer and reading your post....it doesn't make me feel better!

Cool kids have rich parents and don't need to work...never mind work a Saturday night!

I'm travelling this weekend... Currently in Nashville, just finished spending the day watching JC Santana talk about functional training.

I was contemplating driving home tonight (over 5 hours), but I think I'm going to stick around, go eat some sushi with my buddy Jared (who hosted JC at his extremely cool club, GO performance and fitness).

All that being said however, my normal routine is to hang out at home on a Saturday night.

I'm so tired it's probably best that I don't try to do a long-ish drive tonight.

My 16-yr old son is reading the new Harry Potter book at this moment. My 18-yr old daughter got the book this morning and finished it this afternoon. Yeah, they're cool!

(we may watch The Full Monty later if I can tear my son away from Harry!)

I've driven from Conway to Nashville before. Yeah, it took me close to 6 hours. That was such a long, boring drive all by myself.

Hmmm, my day: myspace, aim, dishes, laundry, took dogs for a walk. Real excitement

I worked 6a-10p with a 3-hour break mid-morning during which I ran the hilliest (is that word copyrighted yet?) 4.5 miles I can remember. Back at it again in 7 hours, so no party or alcohol for me tonight.

Dealt with some car issues during the day, workout in the evening, and authentic Chinese food in Toronto's main Chinatown (we have several) with some old friends.

I'm trying to start up a computer game company, so staying home and designing starships, writing code to emulate rotational kinematics, yadda, yadda, yadda, is no big deal.

However, I'm getting so focused, I'm forgetting other aspects (the gym, etc).

Remember to have toilets on the starships....that's why Firefly is the best!

No problem there. It was only in the 60s that hollywood didn't want to acknowledge their sh*t stank. All vessels need showers and toilets, even if they are semi-shared.

Ya know, I never saw Firefly. I still have yet to see an episode. I'm surprised it was canceled because everyone who watched it thinks it was remarkable (I feel that way about Threshold).

The movies aren't brand-new, usually a month or two old.

And my girlfriend loves Firefly, then got mad when I fell asleep watching the first episode with her. But then again, she doesn't like Strongbad's Emails, which means she has no taste.

Doubtful. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows kicks so much ass it's not even funny.

Blah, blah, blah.

The Full Monty was hilarious. The last best comedy I've seen with really awesome throwback music.

Sunday nights. I posted on a Sunday night, when I was at work.

Saturday nights I'm offline designing a scout class starship.

Drink less, it's throwing off your internal clock.

Once that is done, then it'll be a matter of rendering it in DX9 and making it move according to the laws of physics. It won't be completely accurate from the start because I'll not have calculated CoM, but it will be good enough for a start, but I'm digressing...

I am definately not a happy camper on Sunday nights because I work on a Sunday night, the workload is as much as we have on a weekday when we have four people, but on weekends, it's only two because the company refuses to pay overtime, regardless of the workload.

On Sundays, the asia pac region is starting its work week dicovering the changes made over the weekend have cut connectivity, stopped access, screwed up records, etc and my team is responsible for recording and making sure someone is on it and putting it down in the tkt every 20 mins. My boss gets reamed if we don't make sure all the Ts are crossed and the Is dotted and so he reams us for over that as well.

Big businesses have a momentum to them that carries them through medium issues. They must, because a medium or small business couldn't survive the stupidity of the directors and VPs of big business. Everytime a director takes a dump, it creates an additional 5 minutes of work to put it down on record, alerting the helpdesk, making sure it's categorized properly, routed to the right group, closed with a detailed solution, etc.

I've never read a Potter book and was never really impressed with the movies, though I was sad to hear of Harris' death. Good actor.

P.S. I don't use smilies as a matter of personaly choice. Just know I don't dislike anyone here. I'm just being facetious.

Saturday night went over to the boyfriend's place to hang out. Was a quiet night.

Inadvertently got caught in the Harry Potter hub-bub on Friday night. Yee gawds what a mess that was. You literally had to push your way through Barnes and Nobles. They wouldn't let Bob into the store because they were over capacity.
