I've seen it at the library a few times but haven't picked it up yet.
Needless to say what a prodigious writer and what a life!

I saw him speak at SMU many years ago. Awesome! I then followed him to a bar. Didn't get to talk to him but we both enjoyed a cold beer within 10 feet of each other. If Galapagos holds true he'll be back as a dolphin like creature in a million years or so.

I'm profoundly sad. Vonnegut quite literally changed my life.
As a dyslexic learning to read was a very difficult part of my childhood. In fact it was so tough that I hated books on a deep emotional level. That is, until 7th grade when I randomly picked up "Breakfast of Champions" to read for a book report (the ONLY reason I ever would have read anything.)
I loved it, and something clicked. I proceeded to read everything I could find in the school library by Vonnegut. I've continued to read and reread his work through high school, college and into adulthood. I credit him with my now voracious appetite for books.
Needless to say what a prodigious writer and what a life!
That says it all right there. What an extraordinary writer and thinker. He'll be missed.
