Default Road Trip

I live in Indiana, and was thinking about taking a road trip this summer. This is all speculation now.. but if i do go i would be going by myself. I drove to memphis last year w/ a buddy of mine and it was great, but this year, he has to work. So, anyone w/ any ideas? Anyone live in the states around here where i could visit w/ them for a day and see sites or something? Just shoot out the ideas, as i'm bored now.

there's Worlds of Fun, the Royals, the zoo, the Plaza, the Negro Leagues Museum.....

and it depends where you go

biggest thing is having $$, no dough means options are limited.

if you have time, just drive and look at billboards. you see something that looks remotely interesting, turn off and check it out. I'm a big fan of the worlds "biggest" *things*. hop back in the car and go until you see something else interesting. You get tired...get a hotel within crawling distance to a bar...eat...get pissed, start over the next day.

having a destination and "plan" takes some of the fun out of road trips.

I've always wanted to take a road trip and just hit a bunch of major league ballparks. Visit the classics like Wrigley, Fenway or Yankee Stadium. Or hit the new ones like Jacobs Field, Camden Yards, new Busch Stadium.

Then again, I'm a baseball fanatic, you may not be.

Best trip I've ever taken in a car was driving from South Florida to Key West. Awesome drive.

Washington DC is cool, a long day's drive from Indiana, full of hot women, and you can see Noah's Ark being rebuilt along the way... I'd be willing to drive up there and chill on a weekend.

Last year I drove to Little Rock. A great trip. I'm planning it again next year.

Next time, I might do the Route 66 thing. Takes longer, but might be even more fun.

you could go to whatever that town is on the other side of El Paso (I was drunk and don't remember) and see a donkey show. everyone needs to see a woman getting nailed by a donkey at least once in their lives.

Alco - under no circumstances do you want to go to Juarez.
Gobbla - never heard of a 'donkey' show. For real?

Texarkana? Kind of depends...

On my father's side of the family, there was a man who married his first cousin and had hisself a couple of Deliverance kids.

Do you think you're going to get waylaid? ("You sure got a purty mout'!")

Not likely. The people are live and let live down there, just be ready to see new and perhaps some disturbing stuff. It's a big varied world.

You'll see a lot of abandoned homes and occupied shacks. They have a superstition about tearing down old structures.

general idea. Any border town next to an Army\Navy base is going to be a good time. You can almost be certain to see something you've never seen before. Not saying that you should be a sexual deviant doing things that are illegal or anything...but if you just happen to be in a kiddie pool full of pudding and midgets one thing leads to another...makes a good story.
