JPFITNESS-You all made my walk a huge success last year! My donations page is now up, and would love the support if you can afford it. With the money I raised last year with your help, we saved a kids life!!!
All, Just wanted to let you all know that my wife and I are walking for our son Evan who was born on 9/6/2005 10 weeks early. Here is our website if anyone wishes to help sponsor us.

If it was not for Preemie Research, we might have lost our little guy. He was born at only 3lbs, 4oz by emergency surgery. I am proud to say he is now over 25lbs, and is doing very well.
Last night (4/10), the family went for a nice walk. It was Evans 2nd time walking around the entire loop we usually walk. A week doesn't go by, that I don't think of how lucky I am, and how hard it must be for the parents who's son or daughter didn't make it.
Thank You all for reading this.

Here is more info on our situation...
On April 28th 2007, Charity (My wife) and I are participating in the WalkAmerica fundraiser to support the March of Dimes fight against premature birth. Our son Evan, was born 10 weeks premature. Charity was 29 1/2 weeks pregnant with him when her placenta abrupted (prematurely separated from her uterus). He needed to be delivered by emergency c-section and spent 5 weeks in the Intensive Care Unit. He weighed 3 lb 4 oz at birth and we are happy to say he's a healthy 25+ lbs now!! Sadly, there are babies born even smaller and less healthy than Evan, and end up having long lasting health problems. We are very fortunate that Evan has progressed so well.
Premature babies like Evan benefit from the research funded by the March of Dimes. I invite you to my WalkAmerica webpage!

I was just thinking about this the other day. Glad you're doing it again. And it's great to hear Evan is doing so well.
Thanks Everyone for the thoughts and kind words. I look forward to sporting the JP Fitness.com logo on my shirt again (It's done by Sharpie, but it works)! You all have really been great in supporting me. Hope all is well, and take care.
I just tried to make a donation and got this error:
????
Figured I'd at least bump the thread.
Jax, Thank you very much for the heads up. I just tried it, and it did work for me. Could you please try again, and let me know if there is an issue. It looks like only 1 person has made a donation, and that makes me worry that something might be wrong.

Guys, thanks for the last minute push! I will be thinking about all of you tomorrow. Got the rain cover on the 3 wheeler, and everything is set. Walk starts at 9AM and is about 5 miles.
Thanks for the reminder, Jason. Just donated. Hope the weather holds out for you guys. I think it rained the weekend of last year's event too, didn't it?
Have a great walk and post some pictures of the event.
Edit: I got the same error message as Jax, but it went thru on the second try.
I have let the staff at Walk America know about the error.
And Yes, Last year we did get rained on. We have a nice waterproof cover for Evan's 3 wheeler, so he should stay dry and warm. And being from Vermont, my wife and I are used to hiking or walking in the rain.
I wanted to Thank You all again one final time. The walk was a huge success this weekend. While it did rain, and was vry foggy, we had a great walk. My wife, Evan, and myself were the first people to cross the finish line. I was impressed by the turn out considering the conditions outside. It was great to see all the little kids running around, and dancing. They even had a cool bubble machine, which the kids LOVED.
This really let me know how lucky I am. Our son, was also born 10 weeks early like the child in the article above. As you can see, some kids are not as lucky. What amazes me is, they still find time to smile...
Thanks Everyone for the bottom of my heart....
Jason
Sounded like a good time, Jason. Thanks for sharing.
FYI to JP'ers: Jason is still collecting donations for the March of Dimes. He's a few bucks short of this goal, so open your wallet if you can afford it. It'd be nice if he can say he met his fundrasing goal two years in a row.
