umm..at the risk of being ridiculed as a crazy person..I'm posting this..seems pretty amazing to me.
I am 5'10"..errr..what I mean to say is...I WAS 5'10". I was hugging my wife this past weekend and she commented that she was shrinking. Not just a little...but noticabley shorter. (she's had back surgery so we figured it was possible.) No big deal.
My mother comes to visit. I'm standing next to her and she says...you seem...taller. That had never occured to me..seeing as how I'm 46 and further growth seems like a thing of the past..
Sooo we whip out the trusty measuring stick and get this. I'm 1 inch+ taller than I was just a few months ago. WTF!
Measured the wife..she's same height as always.
I come to Minnesota and meet a fellow I worked with for a few months. He comments.."Are you taller?" This is friggin freaky I tell ya.
I was 5'10" and am now 5' 11 1/8" tall.
Chins? Swimming? Something has corrected my posture I guess..but I don't think it was THAT bad. Jeez O Pete!
OK..let the ridiculing begin.
I'll read it all from up here at my new altitude.
I still have a hard time swallowing this myself. It's really strange.
HEY! Maybe I should sell my program to people as a sure cure for shortness? No offense short folks.:p
I was just surfing on it and found on T-Nation where loading the spine can actually make you taller. I've been squatting 3 times a week. ??? I figured that would actually work against making a persons height (if it had any affect) Their reasoning was that the erectors get stronger and bone density is increased all having an affect on posture.
With all the low back problems I've had..I like the sound of that.
As if the mass gaining advantages of squatting wern't enough...we can add height growth to the list..good thing i squat a lot..i could use some growing
So if I squat a lot I can join the NBA. That'll be a good cure for the midlife crisis!

Depends on time of day too. A person's height will change by about an inch over the course of a day due to spinal discs losing some fluid as more compession occurs from being upright.

Just a thought.
Hmmm. It was one evening. So I may actually be 6'6" ?!!
It also depends on if you stand in a hole while being measured. Plus, the closer you are to the equator the taller you are due to the earths faster rotation there.
