I watched a a few shows on Disc earlier this week centering around Star Trek. One was about the tech of ST, the other was basically about the end of ST, called "Star Trek and Beyond" or some such, narrated by Leonard Nimoy. In this they highlighted the auctioning off of all the remaining props and wardrobe.
I flipped at how much that stuff went for. A 6' model of the Enterprise from TNG went for $500,000. A flute used in the series, didn't play a note, sold for $40,000 (projected $8,000-$12,000). Lots of comm badge and phaser props, models of all ships including the Reliant from The Wrath of Kahn, Romulan Warbird and Klingon Bird of Prey, Voyager, tons of stuff. It took them six months to itemize and research all the stuff before the auction.
As geeky as it all looked, it was still very interesting to watch. The owner of the franchise said they have decided not to produce anymore shows or movies, so that definately makes these collector's items and historical pieces.

That's a proposal. It would still have to be accepted by Paramount (or whoever owns it). Also, look at the poll: 81% of the people said they'd rather eat their own feet. Doesn't sound like it's getting made.
Oh, and the proper title of the show:
"Star Trek: Beyond the Final Frontier," on the History Channel.
I was rather surprised at how low many of those estimates were. The Christie's catalog itself is going to be a hot collectible, no doubt.

I was always disappointed that they did not make a "Voyager" movie.
I've wondered about that. When do we get to see them get home?
I've wanted to see a DS9 movie, too.

I thought DS9 was the best of the Star Trek franchise. It had a tension-filled backstory, darker plotlines, morally nebulous characters.
