Kevin and I had this discussion about a month ago. He and my son recommended the iPod, which has been a great choice. It's so damn easy to use compared to the Creative Zen I had before. Most importantly, it sorts podcasts by source so I can now find Max-out Radio and The Fitcast easily. Here's a link to that thread http://http://forums.jpfitness.com/s...ad.php?t=22901.

Yeah I got my wife a nano from that link. I'm acutally going to be getting the ipod or zune from credit card points that I've been saving. My ipod mini's battery doesn't hold its charge anymore (I think I've had it for three years). After hunting around the web it seems like the Zune is more bark than bite so I'll be going with the ipod. The next questions is nano or 30gb??

Hey Mike,

Before it got stolen, I had one of the Nano's. I really liked it. It was a good size, easy to update, use at the gym, etc. One of these days, I will have another....

I would get a nano. Especially for the gym it rocks. Even when spriting you don't even know its in your pocket.

If you're going to use it in the gym you want the Nano. No hard drive.

I have a 30 gig video iPod and have an armband for it which I use at the gym. Haven't had any problems with it at all. The latest versions of the full size iPods are much smaller than they used to be; it's not that much bigger than my former mini.

I have the mini now...I don't know how much I'd use the video function and I doubt I'd fill the 30gb but....more and bigger is the American way!!!

Nice dude!

I just ordered a new Nano too tonight (I foam rolled over my old one. Not a smart move). I just happened to get my tax return today.

That sucks! Did you leave it laying around at the gym?

Nah, it was stolen from my truck with my laptop, textbooks, gym bag, etc etc last semester. I never left anything laying around until that day when I ran inside the apartment for a couple of minutes to return to nothing. Let's just say, 2006 was a rough year...

I am going to see about getting myself a new one for my birthday in May....

definitely iPod. . . . I have an old Shuffle that I use for the gym; and then I bought a 4GB Nano for the truck. Love 'em.

I just bought my wife the 30gb and I've been loading songs for her all day. Thing is.... now I want one. These are really nice. I can load a movie and watch it on lunch at work! Nice! I don't think it'd be to intrusive for using while working out, although I'm sure the Nano is more suited size-wise.

Anything SanDisk get's my vote. Works great, everytime. Excellent battery life, easy to use. They have a wide array of models, and many of them come with an armband.

I have to respectfully disagree with you Sharkie. I have a SanDisk and I'd NEVER buy another one. The actual device is okay, not great. However the ease of use, directions, etc are absolutely horrible. IMO.
