Why wasn't this shooting on the front page of every newspaper in the country? And why isn't it the main story being covered on the news channels?

I don't know about Baltimore, but it's been all over the news here and on the major news network sites that I frequent.

They are too busy giving nationwide coverage to a learjet with landing gear problems and to a school bus accident in Iowa. Too much focus on "events" that have no impact on society at large.

I don't know, do you read newspapers or watch the news at all? I've read about it for the last couple days in the local paper, and have seen multiple reports on several different news channels.

It hasn't been on the front page every day, and I don't believe it should be nor should it necessarily be the lead story on every newscast. Why do you think it should be? Because he was Muslim?

The story is probably getting more play out here because we're a lot closer to SLC. I don't really follow stories about random mall or workplace shootings back east, either though.

On a side note, I've eaten at the Rodizio Grill and a couple other places at that mall, it's a nice place.

Sad to say, I have gotten to the point where when I hear these stories I am relieved that the shooter was killed. I just don't want to hear about his problems, where he came from, what prompted him to do it. Nothing will justify or explain to me these random acts of violence. I am simply glad that he is dead and this feeling bothers me.
