Default You think you have it bad?

It's one degree here this morning and windy. Very cold. Despite the cold, from my comfortable office I'm watching fisherman return with the day's catch. These are mainly lobster boats. Think about what it must be like working on the open ocean, in the dark, with frozen spray hitting you, as you muscle hundreds of pounds of lobster gear out of the ocean.

Makes me cold just thinking about it.

Have you guys ever watched "Deadliest Catch" on the Discovery Channel? It's a reality show/documentary series on the crab boat fisherman out of Alaska. They make a crap-load of money in a relatively short period of time but statistically, it's the most dangerous job in America. Check it out!

Snowing in Dallas? Are people driving?

I'm about an hour south of Portland and an hour north of Boston.

It was -37c @9am on Jan 12th without windchill here. It has warmed up since then. I think that converts to -34f.

Yikes! Please keep that stuff bottled up in the Arctic. The weather forecasters are going crazy down here over the cold outbreak. They think it's going to snow, so they'll get lots of attention!

If it's any consolation, KC is cold, too. Yesterday morning it was zero degrees F when I got up in the morning. This morning it was about 4 degrees. Right now we're at 17. At least I work indoors.

It was in the low teens here this morning, it's in the low 30s now. Got dressed to go swim, walked out the door then came back in and changed (started out in shorts/flipflops and a hoody).

Ah, winter is finally here.

It was -35 degrees farenheit this morning in Steamboat Springs. That translates to -35 degrees F. The F is for F*C$ING COLD!!!!

Was that the wind chill or the actual temp?? Not that either would be good.

It was 61 degrees warmer than that at my place this AM, and I thought that was more than cold enough!!
