A giraffe munching on some vegitation. The basic concept is from an idea picture from an official set. When the trees are dry, he has to spread out to bend down to get food from the ground. Poesable with 15(counting 2 in the tail and each ear) points of articulation, some in multiple directions.
A Sabretooth Tiger, the concept was again from an idea picture in a set, but my final design is usually quite a bit different from the origonal concept. The last picture shows him feasting on the wooly mammoth from that set. His upper fangs don't show up real well in the pictures; this is where I need Paul's help. 10 points of articulation plus the tail.
A little baby dragon to go along with an official LEGO dragon, he is catching a ride through my office on poppa dragon in the last picture. 11 points of articulation.
those are really cool, i can only make things when the instructions tell me what to do, when they fall apart and i dont have the instructions they usualy stay broken

Same here
I especially like the sabretooth tiger and the dragons, but they're all really really cool. Thanks Buk.

JP, cool website for your boy. Where do those symbols in the title bar(right under Bionicle Boy) come from? All I can guess it says is "BEYOND MACHINES"(maybe "making personal", but I like beyond machines better) I never use bionicle, but I really like the second and 5th creation. The 5th looks like a good bit of a decent lego General Grevious! And the 4th one really looks like he could dish out some punishment. I love that reasonably clever website that he has linked - the mini-mizer is awesome.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. LEGO building has been so much fun lately. The sabretooth is one of my favorite custom builds ever. My wife started it, but didn't have the patience to get it done and I finished it off - thankfully she was happy I did and not mad that she didn't have another chance to knock it out.
Walls can be tough to build, you have to factor in strength to weight, on big walls you need internal support and some color mixing or texture to prevent The Big Gray Wall Syndrome of seeing a plain wall of gray - widows help
Check out this awesome wall built by a professional LEGO builder

In the Bionicle letters it spells, "Julian Desveaux" -- his first and middle name.
Buk, those are incredible! Forgive me if you've already been asked this, but do you do this out of your own imagination or do you have kits? And how long have you been doing this?
My favorite thing to do as a kid was to build with Legos or blocks so I absolutely love those. In fact, I had to do a circuit project for my physics class, but instead of putting it in a boring ol' box I got creative and built a boat over the weekend out of metal and wood and then put the circuits inside so that it was like a toy boat that had lights, a horn and a propeller with different speeds.
I remember reading a story ( I believe it was in one of those Chicken Soup for the Soul books) about a lady who had a passion for building with Legos. One way or another she ended up being the head designer or builder for Legoland. As you can see, I don't remember details too well.
Thanks Nick, and I had figured you were the wone that brought the thread rating down
The Wolly Mammoth and the big dragon are from kits. There is an "idea" picture that I used as my inspiration for the giraffe and sabretooth. The fish, baby dragon, and frog are completly unique. I probably first started with LEGOs when I was still in diapers. I saw very few through high school and college. Since then I would pick up a set here and there - probably a few a year up until about a year ago. In the lsat year I have been building a lot.
I love making projects into something cool and creative. For halloween this year I went as Davy Jones(Pirates of the carribean) with my friends 4 little kids as Will turner, Jack Sparrow, Pirate Elizabeth, and Miss Elizabeth. I built a huge Black PEarl Pirate ship about 3 feet long being consumed by giant Kraken tentacles about 4 feet long each. I don't think I got my pictures into the Halloween costume thread yet though.
and this thread just gave me an idea .. My son and some of his cousins (all around 24 yrs old..) will be over at x-mas.. I think I'll take a shot at bringing out the big box of legos from way back when.. I'm already smiling at thier reaction after x-mas supper LOL My Boyfriend will love it too! lol
I don't remember that in our high school counselor career choices.
I loved Lego's!
Those are awesome BTW Buk! I always took the plans given and reworked them to make better vehicles and stuff. At one time I had a little battery operated motor that you could make stuff move. Came with gears and axels and stuff. Cooooool.
Thanks for sharing.

I had a kit that came with a motor and gears and axels too! I completely forgot about that!
It was a motorcycle kit. I use to love that thing. Right up until the day I realized I lost too many pieces to rebuild it, then I cursed it for being so many pieces.

My friend Zack, who IS still in diapers, likes to stack a bunch of heads on a mini-fig and hold it up and say "creepy" but it comes out sounding kinda like "crappy" I have two cool motorcycles, drive chain, working engine, and one I haven't yet to put together.
