apparently i've got a stomach bug so i've been up all night hugging the toilet- let me tell you, it's been FABULOUS. My Mom came down at one point (i live at home) and forced some toast and ginger ale on me, but that didn't stay down. i just want to friggin SLEEP but noooooo just about every hour i get woken up by that "if you don't run to the bathroom you'll be cleaning the carpet tomorrow" feeling. do you guys have any suggestions for what i can do/take eat? i took some pepto before bed and yep, definitely didn't stay down.
sorry to gross you guys out, but i'm SO tired and SO sick of this that i'll take any advice.
First of all, I'd like to say that sucks!!! And I hope you get to feeling better soon. That said, don't try to eat, if you know you're just going to throw it back up. But, DO drink LOTS of fluids. And maybe when you do think you can start holding down food, try some chicken soup. As for meds, I'm not sure about that one. Pepto was always good for me. Hope this helps, and get better soon!
Awww Java I hope you are feeling better. I found that liquid gravel helps when my kids are sick, and when you can keep liquids down peppermint tea makes yout tummy feel good. Feel better soon Java

I would recommend clear liquids for the first 24 hours or so depending upon how you tolerate them. You can increase your diet to tolerance when you feel you are able. I would also consider an OTC product called EMETROL for the nausea and vomiting. Check with the pharmacist if you are taking any other medications/herbals of course to make sure there are no interactions but I am pretty sure there won't be.
If the condition persists over the weekend, I would check in with your family physician on Monday.
That stinks, Gina. I had this happen to me last year and I made the huge mistake of having a huge glass of water when I woke up the next morning. I threw up within 2 minutes. Apparently, water can be pretty hard on an empty stomach when you've been throwing up. I went to the doctor and got a prescription when that happened to me. For the next 2 days, my diet consisted of chicken soup, crackers, ice chips, popcicles and diet sprite. The worst is probably over for you. I hope you start feeling better this morning.
thanks guys. i hope the worst is over, i've now moved on to a fever which i can handle much better than vomiting. thank you so much for the suggestions my mom went out to get some stuff a little while ago. jruck, yep i did the same thing! i was SO THIRSTY that i downed an entire bottle of water - ugh. yes i brushed after every time, even though the toothpaste did NOT like my stomach. i guess i should be grateful it's THIS weekend not next (graduation is next weekend) but i'm still not happy about it.

lol yep! the backstreet boys concert was my 8th grade graduation present. i got to take a friend but since my mom was a single parent at the time my brother HAD to come. it was his first concert too, needless to say he refuses to tell anyone that.

My buddies were talking to her and her friends (yeah, like they were going to go for 17 year olds) and she said "yeah, my boyfriend called me from the Tonight Show" or something to that effect when they asked about boyfriend or whatever. So that then led to the question of "who the hell is that?"

Gina, Hope you're doing even better tonight. That's rough, my whole family went through it. I never really got it but I've had a cough for about 2 months now. I've finally decided to go to the doctor tomorrow. I'm probably dying and it would be good to know it.
