Default Red’s Weekly ReCrap #22 – People in stucco houses shouldn’t throw quiche

The CEO of my company told me a story once about a really bad back injury he had. It laid him up for two weeks, and he had to take tons of medicine. One of the side effects was a major bowel backup. For two weeks. When he finally got out of bed and sat on the throne, he said the pain reached a point where he just screamed out, “Somebody kill me, please!”. What’s this story have to do with the ReCrap? Nothing but poo, I guess. Fun story, though.

Red’s Weekly ReCrap – Week ending December 8, 2006
1. The thread of the week is no contest – Miss 6 pack’s introduction wins the prize. Is it a he or she? A pro football player or troll? Nobody knows but we all look forward to more posts, more information and more fun. To the forum’s great credit, not a single person posted this picture. Or asked the mystery man/woman to roll this. Here’s to you, kind-in-the-face-of-insults members.
2. In the Training forum, we got to see both sides of the issue of sedentary parents. Gx3 lamented his out-of-shape father and wanted tips to inspire him, while TheSteve’s mom has hopped on the fitness train with both feet. My own tip to help your parents get in shape? Tell them you wish you were adopted, then run as fast as you can.
3. bigDman unfortunately shared the story of his partially torn meniscus in the Injuries forum. Bryanc and Mike Robertson have both chimed in with advice, including the paramount recommendation to avoid all activities that could “lock” the knee. Can you imagine a knee that’s completely immobilized? Me neither, but I’ve heard that husbands all over the country are looking for ways to cause similar conditions in their wives’ mandibles. (I’m gonna pay for that one)
4. JP has suggested a flag football game for a fun post-summit activity next year. Ahh… flag football, the sport of wannabe athletes, has-been athletes, and people who just enjoy the art of pantsing. Sounds like the perfect sport for this group.
5. The Running forum had a good note on avoiding “accidents” during a race. Some people noted that a few racers are so competitive that they won’t even stop to use the bathroom and will “Just do it’ in their pants. You know, if that’s your thing, then go get down wit’ya bad, stinky self. But I have a personal rule that any sport involving me crapping myself is not the sport for me. That’s why I’ve never been on a Japanese game show. Well, that and the fact that I’m not Japanese. And don’t know how to get on those shows. Whatever, I’m still not crapping myself.
It’s nice to be back, and this weekend I want to encourage you to go out and do something new. Something daring. Discover something about yourself or about the world. Here are two groundbreaking, mostly non-funny videos for ya:

First, it’s the pilot intro to Miami Vice (yes, the original). TV had NEVER looked like this before. You might find the video boring, but this was a big deal back then. If you enjoy just about any action/drama TV show on the air today, you can thank Miami Vice.

Last, it’s an independent film using stop-motion techniques. Think about how long this took to make. But it’s unique, it’s done and it’s all theirs. What will you do?

That last film was really unusual. I really liked it though.

Good recrap. I don't think the desire in #3 is limited to husbands (I'm gonna pay for that too).

That video was awesome! Can we give them a themed award for that? I suggest the first weekly Feces Award. Sound good? ok.
