Default Oh no, my snake!

My snake escaped Friday night! I have a 4.5 foot ball python, and I cleaned his cage out Friday night. I took the cage outside and hosed it out and left it out to dry overnight. I had my snake in a tupper ware container with a brick on it, but I guess the brick wasn't heavy enough, cuz when I woke up Sat morning, he was gone. I've searched my entire house, but no luck. I'm not worried about him getting one of my cats, but I am worried about my cats or my dogs getting a hold of him. I've had him for 5 years... got him when he was the size of a pencil. This sucks!

If there's no way out of the house, he has to be there somewhere. Keep looking.

Seriously, sorry to hear about the escape. I hope it doesn't scare the neighbours! Or run into Samuel L. Jackson! Good luck finding it soon.

At least it escaped, Bob. Better than remaining in its "cage"!

I hope you find him soon.

And I really, really hope he doesn't slither his way up to my neighborhood...

Have you looked in your nose?

He will turn up--keep on checking. Any chance the dog could sniff him out for you without attacking it?

That's just nasty, fish. My rott is afraid of him and would run away barking... my pitt on the other hand might eat him.

Have you tried putting the pit bull in his crate (if you have one) and walking around with the rottie? When the rottie runs away whimpering, you have your man!

Look under everything!!! He's probably hiding under something.

If all else fails, move your other critters to someone else's house for the time being, put a mouse or rat in a cage, out in the open to attract your snake to it.

Are you married or do you have a g/f. She probably seen this as an opportune time to get rid of Jake. JK, good luck finding it. Look near electrical applicances, or anything that can put off a little heat.

Sorry to hear that your Snake escaped.

How many places can a 4.5 Python hide in a house? Yikes. Hell what do I know, maybe you could set up something that attracts the snake..like a heat source so that eventually it will come out of hiding.

Did you find him yet? Should we start a pool on where he will be?
My bet is on the darkest place in your house.

If my turtle can escape from me within a minute and be hard to find, I bet your snake is even harder to find. Snakes are stealthy!

Ok, my last question...

Did you check this on Snopes?

Gators and crocs tend to rip off chunks rather swallow something whole.

However, if the gator thought the width indicative of the length, it may have kept swallowing until it 'sploded.

For the 65 million years they have been on this world, they're still pretty stupid.

Okie dokie. Just had to make sure because it was so over-the-top. I saw the one of the python that attempted to swallow a gator and 'sploded.

Oh wait, that photo is what happens when a python tries to swallow a gator. I thought it was the other way around.

That pic is real. I loved that picture and still do. It's insane.

And yes, the Python tried to eat the gator.

I found my snake! Woo hoo! He was in my basement ceiling between the floor joists. When I put him back in his cage, he drank for about 5 minutes... guess he was thirsty!

If I didn't find him, I was considering getting a red-tail boa...

I hear that my ex-wife choked on a python. That's one of the reasons she's the ex.
