Default Workout clothes for women

Girls if you can help or guys if you can ask your girls. I am tall, 5'8", and it's hard for me to find pants that are long enough. I wear the yoga pants from Victorias Secret which fit great, but I wear them ALL the time. I'd like a different pant that is long enough, or I'd like to find shorts. Any suggestions on brands? I don't want the shorts long, but not too short either. I had an embarassing experience once and haven't worn shorts again..ha. I'll just say the hyperextension bench, the mirror behind me, and everyone looking into that mirror were involved..lol.

title9sports.com has some shorts with longer inseams that you might like. Fit is very individual, so I can speak about how they'll fit. I'm also not tall, so this is not a personal endorsement!

You might look at under armor for women.

Guess you're looking for a real serious answer, so I better pass on this one!

I'm with bill...you're spandex worthy At the very least get a couple pairs of the spando-undies (for men they're "compression shorts"...sounds macho). So if you wear your shorty shorts, you don't have to worry about when the last time you shaved was. They pretty comfortable and will last a while

I love that quote!

TG is spandex-worthy of course.

I have Nike's yoga pants. I am 5'4, but they are two rolls of the waist-band too long for me so they would probably work for you.

Geez...I'm going to get too personal I think..not like that hasn't happened before, but I wear a thong usually cause wearing underwear doesn't work under tighter pants/shorts like the yoga pants. (Makes you look like you have more than one ass..ha) And no worries with the shaving issue

Thanks for the links so far. They both have some good things.

I'll look at those too Shannon..thanks!

My wife is 6' tall and she like to wear plain old Nike gym shorts from Dick's or whatever sporting goods store you might go to. As for pants, she's got a couple pair of nice workout type of pants that are maybe a half inch too short- not a big deal, but a little annoying.

The only place that she can find sweats or pj's that fit her really well is J. Crew. I don't think they have actual "workout" pants, though. I've got a couple pair of Adidas basketball pants that seem to run a little long. You might want to check out Eastbay.com or Adidas.com for the women's version of those.

Just take a trip and try a whole lot of pants on.
Nike have the longest I have seen. I personally do not like most UA pants but love the tops. Take a day to try out different ones, just be stubborn I love love UA, they are my favorite materials, but not the best look. t9 look great!

Take a day to try on pants! That cracks me up because it's exactly what my wife and her friends do on their occasional Saturday shopping excursions.

If it was a guy, it would only take 10 minutes.

10 minutes? order online, you dont even have to try them on! haha.

My girlfriend used to wear some really short spandex shorts (she can get away with it, dont worry) and after some 'comments' in the gym.. now wears more or less the same shorts that I do. haha. Its all about practicality.

Believe it or not, I don't like shopping. Might be different if I had more money..ha. But I will have to go try some things on. I'll go check out the Nike pants and maybe order some shorts and tops.

While we're on the subject of clothes. How about sports bras? I remember reading somewhere about some good ones but can't recall where I read it. Currently, I have to wear a supportive bra, a sports bra, and my top. That's the best combination so far but it would be nice just to wear one bra. And that's not even for when I'm doing HIIT.

I found the best one about a year ago, but I just ran to look at it in my bag and all i can tell about it is that it is a "Champion" brand one. I will see if I can find it online. Talk about poor advertising, no tag telling me what the product specs are so I can buy it again.

Sorry I can't help you on the pants (I'm 5'4") but here's a link to a bra review

I like the Champion - it's not as expensive as the others and does the job. I notice that the off season colors are usually even cheaper.

It's so much easier being a guy. All we have to do is be sure that our shorts and shirts don't match....or it looks like your mom dressed you.

TG I'm just a little shorter than you but I find Addias works really well for those with longer legs. If you want cheaper pants that fit really great too try to find a place called Suzy Shier, they have awesome yoga gear that is longer in the leg as well. Can't help you much on the sports bra end (cause well I don't have much to hold up ) but I hear good things about La Senza's sports bras, and they have a line of workout gear too. Good luck and let us know how it goes. (oh and La Senza has great microfibre seamless thongs that are way comfy for working out in )

First, the men here will be the judge as to whether or not you have much to hold up in the sports bra department. Second, I think some graphic representation of your thong is in order.

Here is my girl. I keep telling her that her triceps have over developed her bis but she wont listen...

Actually, I was reading this thread and my gf saw it. she said she has that champion one as well and doesnt mind it. If shes going to do lots of cardio she wears 2 of them?? Also, she said to look online for yoga pants if your gonna go that route, a good pair is expensive but will last a long time.

Shannon says Champion. I concur. I hate "doubling up" but I'm a 34 D-DD so ummmmmm
Price for Performance I go with Champioin. If you go to Champion's website they have a bra finder search so you can put in your size and what intensity activity you need support for and it will give you options. Also, FYI, they are having a sale right now so all the bras online are $19.99.

Default Title Nine

For the bra part, you might want to check out Title Nine www.titlenine.com because they even have one thats called the Last Resort Bra--but be warned it looks like a jail cell for your boobs! I ordered the frog bra from them last year and it does pretty well. It doesn't completely stop the bounce, but it does a better job than anything else I have tried before. By the way, my bra size is in the same vicinity as yours.
Title Nine apparently has some pretty good pants too, but I haven't tried them because they would most likely be too long. If I buy cropped pants, they fit me like regular ones should...so the regulars are always way too long!
Hope this helps!
