Default Paul's Tuesday morning picture post: Insects...

...and a Spider.

It's Tuesday again. Here we go.

Click pictures to see a larger view.

Although I took it 5 years ago, the dragonfly picture still ranks in my top 5 favorites.

I'm sure there are lots of guys in here who would be willing to step up and defend Jenn from the wicked spider.

don't work Jenn. I'll protect you.

And BTW, the pics are really great!

Thanks for all the comments.

Sorry about the spider Jenn, I promise next weeks post will be less creepy.

Rockhard: I never really noticed the body of the moth, but now that you pointed it out it's the only thing I see when I look at it. It's always interesting to me how different people can see the same picture in completely different ways.

I love these! All your photographs are so beautiful and I look forward to what you are going to share each week. This week I want to add one as well (hope that's ok!). My husband just happened to catch this butterfly on one of his hibiscus a couple of years ago and I love this picture. (It's a fluke, not a talent like yours! )

Lisa: To be honest, most of my insect shots are flukes. I had to search through 5 years worth of pictures to find 4 good ones to post here today. On my recent trip to the Bronx Zoo I took a bunch of shots in the butterfly garden containing over 1000 butterflies and only got 3 or 4 that I really liked. They really don't like to pose for pictures. Dragonflies are even worse than butterflies. The shot I posted is still to this day my only successful dragonfly picture. I may take 300 shots in a day and usually only a small percentage are keepers. You just have to keep shooting.

I decided to add a few more pictures since I got such a good response, they should also help keep Jenn's mind off of the spider when she tries to go to sleep tonight.

Paul those are beautiful, and thanks for not posting anymore you know whats!! My kids and I just rescued a dragonfly it was doing the back stroke on the bottom of a bucket in my mom's backyard. I took some pic's with my mom's camera, it still was dried up enough to fly when we left. T ball is calling so my mom is going to try to catch a shot of it when it finally flys off. The boys had to come home to look at your pictures one more time before Tball starts. Awesome post Paul

Awesome pictures! I feel your pain Jenn...I don't mind spiders, it's COCKROACHES I hate, the really big flying wood roaches we have in the south. I will run over anyone who gets in my way if there's a roach around!!
