Default *Sigh*

My oldest kid is over at a friend's house, my daughter and my wife are shopping, my youngest boy is napping for the next hour and a half, and I'm all alone. Normally I would relish this moment, but for some reason I am just feeling a little lonely and bored.

It's absolutely beautiful today, reaching a high of 86, and it will drop down to 64 tonight... Perfect camping weather. Doesn't look likely that we'll get out though.

I'm just going to listen to depressing music and feel sorry for myself. Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Listen to a song about a night of tragedy. In the dark. In the rain. In the cold. With no heater. Or basically any country song.

Hope you reach that "relishing" point sometime in the next 90 minutes!

God, you poor bastard. It must suck having a gorgeous wife and kids, a successful business and a healthy body.

Maybe call up Alwyn for some more sympathy.

Well, I found a way to occupy myself. I'm making some cool workout mixes on my iPod.

Someone once showed me this 'Brain Age' game. You could probably get it at Target--good way to relieve boredom. Or try a sudoku puzzle.

Dude, sudoku is f---ing addictive. I'm glad I have a job that doesn't require me to actually produce anything, otherwise I'd be screwed since I probably do a dozen or more sudokus each day

Commas are the most misused punctuation! People use them instead of parentheses and italics all the time. Bugs the hell outta me.

I'll drink to that. My students HATED me for being such a stickler for correct punctuation. Oh well

If you want sympathy, you can find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis

Just kidding JP. Enjoy some quiet time my friend, sounds like you could use it!

Or pick up the damn phone and call on one of your multitude of friends...damn boy, damn. (Was that proper use of a comma?) Should that last sentence have been in parenthesis? Should that one?

All my friends have lives and like to galavant off to remote, rocky corners of the state with their cool kids. When you have young children it isn't unlike a prison sentence when it comes to any kind of social life.

Wake your son up and tell him it's time to go through JP's Boot Camp. 300 pushups, 15,000 situps, and running four miles while giving you a piggyback ride are just a few of the things he'll be forced to do. Indeed, it is one of the very best ways to begin one's fitness career.

Wow! You are feeling sorry for yourself, aren't you, JP. That's alright...parent's of small children are entitled once in a while!

Ours are both down for a nap...pure bliss when they're down at the same time!!!

Also, I'll bet Erika could find some special chore around the house that she's been saving to cure you of your boredom.

Take them out to Toltec Mounds State Park (about 15-20 minutes from your house). They can touch the bones and firs, mess with some arrowheads have a picnic lunch and take a tour around the mounds. It's all wide open with big paved paths and you can see them. Might even wear them out a bit.

That has to be one of the lost depressing records ever made.

Or you could go with Springsteen's The River, (music to end it all by...)

Amen!!! My brother in Iraq called me for my birthday. It sounds miserable but he was thankful that this time around there is air-conditioning. He had gone before all that was set up and it was much worse he said. Hang in there, I hope you are done soon.

First, if you're going to end it all, nothing outside of Morrisey will do.

Dude,
It's called a babysitter. Perhaps you've heard of them. Young teenagers, usually girls, who watch your children for cash. There's no reporting, no SS, no HIPA. You give them cash, your phone number, and then you take that beautiful wife out for a date, before someone else does.

Hey Erika! Want to come over for dinner one night soon? I'm sure JP will babysit!

P.S. Lauren is back in town and needs some babysitting work. She can even speak French to them now.

Jeez, Joe. It only took you 40 minutes to jump on that bandwagon. A little decorum might be in order...
