My oldest kid is over at a friend's house, my daughter and my wife are shopping, my youngest boy is napping for the next hour and a half, and I'm all alone. Normally I would relish this moment, but for some reason I am just feeling a little lonely and bored.
It's absolutely beautiful today, reaching a high of 86, and it will drop down to 64 tonight... Perfect camping weather. Doesn't look likely that we'll get out though.
I'm just going to listen to depressing music and feel sorry for myself. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Someone once showed me this 'Brain Age' game. You could probably get it at Target--good way to relieve boredom. Or try a sudoku puzzle.
Dude, sudoku is f---ing addictive. I'm glad I have a job that doesn't require me to actually produce anything, otherwise I'd be screwed since I probably do a dozen or more sudokus each day

Just kidding JP. Enjoy some quiet time my friend, sounds like you could use it!

Or pick up the damn phone and call on one of your multitude of friends...damn boy, damn. (Was that proper use of a comma?) Should that last sentence have been in parenthesis? Should that one?

All my friends have lives and like to galavant off to remote, rocky corners of the state with their cool kids. When you have young children it isn't unlike a prison sentence when it comes to any kind of social life.
Wake your son up and tell him it's time to go through JP's Boot Camp. 300 pushups, 15,000 situps, and running four miles while giving you a piggyback ride are just a few of the things he'll be forced to do. Indeed, it is one of the very best ways to begin one's fitness career.

Take them out to Toltec Mounds State Park (about 15-20 minutes from your house). They can touch the bones and firs, mess with some arrowheads have a picnic lunch and take a tour around the mounds. It's all wide open with big paved paths and you can see them. Might even wear them out a bit.

Just be glad your not where it is 130 degrees with 55 mph winds and sand. Ugh, 7 days straight of it.
Amen!!! My brother in Iraq called me for my birthday. It sounds miserable but he was thankful that this time around there is air-conditioning. He had gone before all that was set up and it was much worse he said. Hang in there, I hope you are done soon.

First, if you're going to end it all, nothing outside of Morrisey will do.

Dude,
It's called a babysitter. Perhaps you've heard of them. Young teenagers, usually girls, who watch your children for cash. There's no reporting, no SS, no HIPA. You give them cash, your phone number, and then you take that beautiful wife out for a date, before someone else does.
