Default NEW Superman preview

Patricia will appreciate this one since the director is Bryan Singer. Here's a link to the newest released preview for Superman.

I saw that this morning. At first from the earlier trailers I was not that excited. This changed my mind.

I hope this won't be just an action movie. Singer was able to paint a pretty solid picture of who some of the X-men characters were beyond just their abilities. In the past couple of decades DC has really expanded on who Superman is, so Singer has a great opportunity to do the same thing. But if he wastes this chance and Superman movies are put on hault again, I may have to track him down.

I just can't wait to hear the Superman score in a theatre again. I'm hoping to find an IMAX theatre close that will be showing it.

Do any of you guys watch Smallville? I know it may be more of a show for a younger audience, but I really like it. I think the actors do a decent job, minus Lana.

I watch Smallville, and it's usually pretty good. For a while they had some goofy stuff with every kid in the town having strange meteor powers, but it's gotten better.

The part I like is the hints to Clark's future and to heroes he meets. Like when he met Arthur (Aquaman) and the Flash (even though they called him Bart). The current plot with Zod and Braniac is pretty solid. Next season should be good.

I watch Smallville, and I heartily agree with Charger's assessment. Sometimes they got goofy, but I really liked the hints of future superheroes, like the reference to forming "some sort of league."

Which one is brainiac? I like the Zod storyline. Have to agree about Lana too... I thought she was a goddess in the first season (okay, too young for me, but soooo beautiful). Now she just annoys me. Reminds me of an old "friend" who always had drama in her life, which she usually created.

JP,
Milton Fine the machine who has all of the Kryptonian powers that's trying to bring back Zod. When they first introduced Braniac several decades ago, the consciousness of Braniac went into a guy named Milton Fine. So in Smallville it may just be a reference, or Milton may actually be Brainiac.

Ah... My problem isn't that I wasn't watching Smallville closely enough. I just didn't read that particular storyline in the Superman comics. I only read a handful of DC offerings. Most of what I know about the Justice League I got from the cartoons on Saturdays.

I loved Frank Miller's Batman mini-series. The story and artwork were absolutely brilliant! I especially loved the end where he kicked S-man's ass.

The more I see of Superman Returns, the more excited I get. I was a little disappointed with the latest trailer in that it didn't include any of John Williams' classic score.

My wife and I watch Smallville fanatically. It's one of our only "must see" shows.

In the trailer I saw at the movies a couple of days ago, I thought Kevin Spacey absolutely nailed the Gene Hackman Lex Luthor. Looked great.

I'm really looking foward to this movie.

I watch Smallville every week. I think we're a couple of seasons behind you guys though because it was cancelled here for a couple of years until another network bought it up. I love the little passing references to real characters from the comics. We just got done with some episodes with Lois Lane in them, she was great! Some storylines you wish they'd just get on with though, they drag out a little long.

Ok I've seen the new trailer and saw a clip on Canada's SPACE channel's sci-fi awards.

Much more interested in seeing it now. Not a huge superman guy, but looks cool.

I do watch Smallville as well. The aquaman was cool, especially the "Junior Lifeguards Association" line. I'm not quite ready to join the JLA jet, Clark says back.

I also like the Lex Luthor character portrayal in the clips from the new flick.

Og.
