I didn't really know where to put this so I'll just put it here. First my son was given a "national physical fitness" award at school the other day. He was one of only a few kids in first grade to get one. The kids were tested all year long. I don't know everything he did to get it but I know that he did one pull up ( another boy in class did 3 and no one else could do any) and he ran a mile in under 10 Min. I guess that is pretty good for a 6/7 year old.
Second his little league baseball team that I and 2 others coach finished our season the other the other day. We won 2 preseason games, 3 games in the Northwest Ga. Outlaw tournament, 16 games int the league, 4 games in the City County tournament for a total of 25 wins no losses. Boy were we proud of all those kids.
I have tried to use a lot of the advice I have gotten off this site in getting him to exercise and coaching all those kids. It all sure seems to be paying off. Keep him moving and keep it fun is my philosophy. Sorry but I just had to brag a bit.

It has to be so gratifying to be a dad with an exceptionally athletic boy. Mine is genetically gifted, but lacks that killer instinct and competitive drive. He prefers rock climbing or mountain biking to baseball or soccer (which I actually think is pretty cool).
Thanks guys. If I can get some pictures of him I'll put them up. He is not really that great of an athlete though he is not bad. His biggest asset is his attention to detail and that he is a perfectionist. He also loves to learn new things be it school sports or anything. My favorite thing about him though is that he is not afraid to fail over and over until he gets it right an attitude that I wish I had possessed as a youngster.

We just got done with our Little League season. Our coach was inexperienced and it showed. Unfortunately I'm afraid the boys mostly picked up bad habits. My hats off to you for working to help them enjoy the game.
