Default I did a "JP" last night

Up until 2:30 watching a movie (Jarhead) with my son. I had gone to Sam's Club with he and his girlfriend, then took them out for their first turtle latte. Shuana didn't like it (doesn't like coffee), Rob cavalierly ordered a large, and I had a medium, while I've largely been off caffine for the past four months. When I finally crashed at 2:30, I still got up at 8:00 today feeling buzzed with a Trace Atkins song running through my head. So much for setting myself up for a productive day. But I got to spend time with my son and his girl, and we all had fun.

I'll just be draggy-ass today.

Chris,
Special moments are what counts. You will recover, but you have made a memory.

Definitely. And I don't really feel too badly right now, after working out. Robb slept until 12:30 of course. LOL

And I got the song out my head (Rough and Ready).

I'm just glad I reread that topic with the "a" in it. Heh. Thought it was gonna be some sick joke. Not that I'd ever see THAT around here!

Nice day Chris. What did you think of the movie? I read the book then saw the movie so I'm interested in your opinion.

I didn't read the book. I thought the movie was OK, but not really fabulous. I just finished reading "One Bullet Away", so my perspective on life in the corps and middle east fighting was colored by that book, which was very well written (author was a Dartmouth grad and entered/served as an LT). The right word to describe/sum up the movie doesn't come to mind right now.

I think the book is FAR better than the movie. The movie was pretty good but nothing outstanding; I thought too much of it seemed to be a rehash of Full Metal Jacket.

Iagree with racerbill the book was much better.

Chris, if you like those kinds of books check out "Generation Kill" by Evan Wright or "Masters of Chaos" by Linda Robinson

Thanks for the leads, buster. I've also got a couple on order that the author of One Bullet Away recommended in his afterword.
