Thanks for looking out for me. Dartfrog (Kristen) is busy trying to get information for scholarships to help her with her new program this fall and our living situation.
As for me, well as buster said.. I have 7 weeks of school left and they're throwing everything they can at us including first big exam is next wednesday, project regarding a 25 minute presentation and research into telemedicine coming up, math test on conversions for drugs tomorrow, concept map for clinical experience (which sucks), leadership project for clinicals (which also sucks and is time consuming)... I'll stop there, you get the idea, so throw me a bone!! :p
Another reason I have been absent is that my uncle recently died of a massive heart attack. He was only 48 years old and a good friend. My dad is taking this really hard (Uncle Jimmy was his brother), so I've been trying to be there for him as well. I'll be at the funeral tomorrow from 12-5. Please keep him and us in your thoughts.
Once again, thanks for looking out for us. I should be back to my regular posting soon and hope everything is going okay for everyone. I expect to see bumps where you didn't have bumps before when I return and I don't mean thread bumps! lol
I'll probably be posting intermittantly as I study since I do my studying on the computer. So I'll talk to you all soon!
Likewise, Joe. I'm really sorry about your loss. 48! Damn - only 3 years old than me. Just goes to show you how important this fitness stuff is.
BTW - good to see you back posting ... and good luck with the schoolwork.

The problem is that my dad's side of the family has a bad history of heart disease. My grandpa who I never knew (My dad's dad and Uncle Jimmy's dad) died at the age of 38 of a heart attack. This left my grandma and 4 boys (my dad and 3 brothers). Jimmy was the youngest and my dad is 55 so they are all very close in age. They grew up together as great friends and all live relatively close to one another in the same town. My dad said it's like they were the musketeers and now one of them is gone.
Anyway back to the heart disease. Jimmy had triple bypass surgery performed when he was 45. He is not overweight and hadn't smoked for over 10 years. He was taking his medicine and doing everything correctly. In fact it happened when he was playing tennis (doing something active). He died right there on the tennis court.
I feel the worst for his wife and 2 young boys who are only 19 and 18. Thanks for the kind words guys/gals. Now I just need to get my brother and sister to kick the smoking habit. Hopefully this will be a wake-up call.

Man, it's extra tough when he seems to have been doing everything right in order to avoid this. Joe, do you get regular check-ups with the doc? With this in your family history, you clearly need to keep on top of it. (I'm telling this to a nurse .... )

Wow Anubis I am so sorry to heard this news. My deepest sympathies. My thoughts go out to you and your family. I'm with ya on the whole school thing too, presentations, exams (8) and I started an I.V. course to give myself more of a challenge, plus rideouts!! Kinda makes your head spin but you only have 7 weeks left..Good luck with that keep us post on how you are doing.
48 is young. It is really sad Joe. I am also worried about your cousins. I hope your Uncle had enough savings to see your aunt and their kids through this day. I only hope that this loss does not affect their future.
My prayers for you and your family. You take care of your dad as well. Take him for a check up.
