My friends here is the 1000th post. I have given this a great deal of thought and most of you know about my fitness journey (if i may be so pretentious to call it that) and rather bore you that with that , I thought I would talk about this forum. How to describe JPs? It is quite a challenge because there is certainly more to it than meets the eye. Then it came to me, JP's is Gilligan's Island.
We have all the characters here:
The Skipper:
Of course our ever present JP leading us through the rough seas of the fitness world, bravely and smoothly navigating the the torrid seas of the forum switch over.... (well the skipper did maroon everyone on the island didn't he, oops... well you get the point).
The Professor:
We have a boat load of profs here, who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience.
The Movie Star (and MaryAnne):
We have an eye full of our own JP vixens to help us through the loney nights on line (for the record, I liked Maryanne better)
The Millionare:
(and his wife) Look no further than the car threads, or vacation photos to see the loaded guys in their BMers hogging up the roads in millionaire style...and of course..
Gilligan: That would be me haplessly making my way each week. There are perhaps many Gulligans among us and we all make for amusing episodes. But the roles here change often, todays Gilligans bumbling along are tommorow professors giving great advice to others. Many skippers as well who help JP keep the site up to par (both in content and self restraint). Every episode provides a twists, turns and surprises! I guess the main difference is that we are here by choice and not stranded. So thanks to you my fellow castaways for making Gilligan's Island such a fun place to be.
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour. A three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle, with Gilligan, the Skipper too, the Millionaire and his wife, the movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann, here on Gilligan's Isle.
"So join us here each week my friends, you're sure to get a smile, from seven stranded castways, here on "Gilligan's Isle."
Peter

Remember that time the gorilla kidnapped Gilligan and held him in that cave? er, ah yeah.
That was awesome....
Glad to have you aboard Pi-ta-san

Nice one, Pete. Amazingly apt analogy, although I'm not sure JP will appreciate having his website called an "uncharted desert isle" .... :p
Congrats on the grand. Better go shine your Beemer now. Gilligan .... pshaw. You're definitely Thurston Howell III, dude!
PS So you went with the later version of the lyrics, eh? Revisionist!

Congrats. I think. No. You didn't mention me. Never mind.
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure. Five passengers and a post whore set sail that day for a three hour tour. A three hour tour.
Nick, is that better?
Congrats on the milestone, Peter. Very creative....as most of your posts are. Glad you stayed on the island.

Little Buddy, I appreciate the sentiment, but you are all stuck here. Many try to leave our little island, but they keep coming back (for better or for worse). Personally I'm glad you're all stranded here with me, or it would get awfully lonely!
Sorry, got the wrong man! I definitely DO NOT drive a BMer. I got roasted for comparing a Hyundai favorably to a BMW a while back. LOL
Glad all of you enjoyed the post, it was fun thinking of your "in character" momments.
Just joshin' ya, Pete. It's just that having seen those pics of you a while back in your tux, you definitely look like a Howell! (You secretly call your wife "Lovey" too, don't you?)

Congrats....but I don't think we ever had that show here....so I have no idea whatsoever what you were talking about.
Still the sentiment seemed nice....

That has to be one of the most creative and clever milestone posts ever.
I guess I'm a Gilligan, too, but I used to have a belly like the Skipper's...
