Question to JP
JP, do you believe that when you are ready to make the transfer, the forum will be down for a while?

Re: Question to JP
It may go down for a little bit. Big difference is that we have already got the other one up and running with all the old posts, and we have tested it to death so we know it works, so there won't be any significant downtime. We have had to intermittently shut the place down as we work on it. This has been the ultimate nightmare, but it is close to finished. I am on a steep learning curve with the new control panel right now. It is not quite as user friendly as the last one, but I have a lot more control and a lot more flexibility with the new layout.
At this point, I don't even mind if you guys want to go over and look at it. All the members and all the posts up till Jan 14th are on there. All posts are locked, but don't post if you see that they're unlocked just yet. It will just mean more work for me later when I try to clean the data. Here's the link:
http://forums.jpfitness.com/vb
I haven't changed out the header yet, but I have been tweaking the colors a little. Give me some feedback guys! I personally love the new layout.
The final switchover will probably take place on Saturday or Sunday. Moving over all the posts SINCE 1-14 and removing any duplicates is going to be challenging.

Looks good, JP. I can see my 300th post again.
Ah, the memories.
I hope I don't have a steep learing curve for posting pics.

Re: Question to JP
Looks good, JP. I see you're using your corporate colours on the forum, which is a nice tie-in for your website. Keep everything consistent.
I've been to a few vb forums before. Shouldn't take anybody too long to get used to the change.

By the way, if you just changing the routing of the url from this forum to that one, it should take all of 2 seconds to go into effect with now down time...(Since the other is already up)

Re: Question to JP
JP:
Here is my suggestion:
1. Change the "vBulletin" header image. :P
Just to let those of you new to vBulletin know there are tons of great features on it.
1. If you login, under "Quick Links" you can see the posts of that day.
2. You can actually serach the old posts, unlike where UBB threads wouldn't let u search the old posts.
THE BEST THING ABOUT THE NEW FORUMS:
3. Lou & Mahler (and myself) have been restored!

Oh, yeah! We will just have to see about that, sonny.

For those of you who it won't let login, your username may have changed (mine did). Simple go to a post you know you posted in or search the member list/posts for your name. C&C dad your new user name is "C&C dad", see:

It looks great JP. I'll miss the color scheme I've got here but to get Keith, Mahler and Lou back I'll gladly lose it and the 100 or so posts.
