Becka, who used to frequent this forum, lived in Hawaii for a while when she was younger. She's also part-Hawaiian.

I had a friend who grew up here in the midwest, but spent 12 years in HI, living in Oahu, Maui, and Lanai. He absolutely loved it and I would frequently discuss with him the comparisons of our hometown versus HI.
