that I can tell when something's bothering her and know that "nothing" doesn't actually mean nothing.

We all know that "nothing" doesn't actually mean nothing. Many of us have learned that finding out what "nothing" means is rarely worth the effort it takes to extract that tidbit of information. Also, we feel that the best way to discourage the "nothing" tactic in the future is to not indulge it in the present.
Axis... very good point. Noted. I'll definately remember that in the future!
BJ - The kid is a college super-senior (5th year, like everyone at my school, including me).

Excellent use of Classical Conditioning, Axis. Pavlov would be proud
Here is all that needs to be done in this situation:

The funny thing is that this guy is probably really pissed off, not because he made himself look like a driveling idiot, but because you said he has cooties
Honestly, it might have been later in life. He's Asian-American, but very very poorly socialized. He's just honestly quite odd. I would have felt bad for him if he hadn't one day decided he had a problem with me and told me that the Gustapo would have and should have killed me while I was eating lunch with some of my friends.
He's very hung up on me being a "hypocrate" because I always talk about helping the poor, providing equality for the homosexual, etc. but don't "put my money where my mouth is," so to speak. For me though, writing about issues is how I help. I'm a poor college kid - I'm not gonna dump all my time and money into causes like that until I have time and money to give!
It was too painful to read. Like Keith, I only got part way through. It's an embarassment to your college, Chris, if they give a degree to someone with such poor command of the written language.
ooohhhh.... sorry. I usually pick up on sarcasm, but without smiley's and what not, its hard to read online. all good man
Nothing personal, Chris, but I now have far less respect for URI if they allow a student to progress to FIFTH year senior status when they obviously can't even pass basic TOEFL or high school English. Looks like this Zahn guy will end up suing them for taking his tuition money under false pretenses.
Racer, no offense taken. Until someone pointed that out, it didn't occur to me that my university will be giving this kid A DEGREE. What the hell is that about??
He might be some type of science major though, where they're not required to write. I dunno?
I just think it's funny that you're having a flame war in your blogs. And Chris, you might want to check out how to spell "Gestapo" before throwing stones, you know?
haha i knew i spelled it wrong! thanks for clearing that up. yea the flame war is hilarious. I get a kick out of it because he's just a fly on my shoulder, but he gets really, genuinely enraged by me.
