Ok, Im not going to lie, but in the first column I saw "15" and I was thinking "damn those were some quick replies" but when I checked this thread I was like "whered everything go?" Im not used to the views colum being ahead of replies :P
The views before the replies will take a bit to get used to.
How was the test, what was harder: the written part or demonstrating coaching competence. And was it just a test, or did it accompany a hands on class/coaching seminar? If so, who was the main teacher/presenter?
How does the gym you are at feel about olympic lifting? Any platform and bumper plates in the near future(if they aren't there already). I think my gym is getting jerk blocks real soon, that will be nice.

Heres my synopsis of the whole thing:
Of the instructor: hes very nice, pretty laid back and funny. I told him early on that I was interested in going as far as I can with this (OL) so he looked at my form during all of these drills with that in mind and used a finer comb. He said my form was good Smile
Of the class: got a good workout in Smile We watched the 96' games with Dimas but didnt pick apart their form, then he lectured over the basic lifts, the OL progressions, and then spent some time over talking about why OL is important in sports (esp football since most of the people there were football coaches).
Then we went to the gym and did that workout. We got into groups of 3 and practiced said drills while critiquing each other. There was a lunch break, but I stayed and worked out with Jaimie and Linda Jo (my coach and a fellow lifter, both are National Masters Champs)while everyone else went to get food. I had shakes with me, but Leo brought be back a double cheeseburger which I downed and then went right back to lifting
After that, we talked about a few more things and then called it a day. Today he talked about periodization and some of the things about OL meets (weight classes, rules, etc.) then we drilled over the lifts a little more but for about 30 min (which was good because I was dead tired). Then we had our test.
It was good to get his feedback, I felt good about myself from that, and I also learned a few things.
My workout looked like this:
Snatch (all variations from all positions), cj (same), push press, push jerks, snatch press, sots press, front squat, back squat*100000000000
Using various weights.
My workout with my coach: snatches: about 70kg for 6 triples, cleans at 80 for a few doubles.
My gym doesnt care if I o-lift because I know what Im doing. My boss wants to get a platform put in so we can justify throwing away a bunch of machines anyway
