Default Question about lost posts(Jan 11 - Jan 15)

JP - thank you for everything you had to do to get this forum up and running again. I can only imagine the stress it caused.

My profile is there and working, but I do have one quick question: do you think the posts that were lost right before the transfer are going to come back? I backed up my log, and can re-add my lost posts; but I don't want to double up and confuse myself in the future if those posts that I repeat come back.

Again thank you for the work that you have and will continue to put into this site and the fitness community, online and in the real world!

Those posts are unfortunately gone, and probably will not be able to be restored. You may want to wait till tomorrow though. I am having a UBB ranger work on some of the really fine details like this to see if I can fix it. I have many profiles that I am trying to restore first. The main thing was getting the forum up and stable. Next is the profiles and their posts. If I can do all that and restore that week of posts I will, but you may have to re-post a lot of that stuff. I am really sorry if that is the case. The transition definitely had its casualties.

Addendum... It may be necessary to dump current posts to try to re-import Mahler, Lou, et al. It is important enough to me to lose a few posts to get those important profiles and their back log of posts back into the forum. If you have something really important to post, you may want to hold off, or make a word doc back-up of all your posts until this problem is fixed so we don't lose anything valuable. Just learned of this from my new consultant that I hired to fix my problems on this forum.

Thanks for the update. I hope the recovery goes well.

As an aside, have you considered a "Technical" sub forum. It might help keep a lot of these kind of posts where they belong. And also make searching for techincal issues a bit easier.

Sounds like a good idea. Course, once we have this forum debugged we won't really need one.

I wouldn't mind reentering my last few log posts, apparently I am still in 2005.

Even after we are all debugged, I bet it would get as much action as a few of the sub forums. How do I search, how do I avatar, how do I link directly to a post in the middle of a thread? (does anyone know the answer to the last one, I haven't figured it out yet and I like to do that in my log) It seems like there are technical questions once and a while, and it would be a good grouping of the answers(hopefully).
