Yeah the first time I heard about it was when we were at Gazelle's buying the wife some warmer running clothes. Must be a niche thing b/c unless you are a hardcore runner you probably wouldn't know about it.
Offhand, I can't even recall how I heard of it. I either saw it listed at runmichigan.com or it was advertised in a race packet from a race I did earlier in the year. I signed up for it during the RiverBank expo so I knew about it then. Who knows. They're doing it again next year, though I may try a different fall race.
This will definitely have to be in the "Women of JPF" thread. Beautiful pic, Tracy.

"BAM!" What, are you fixating on Emeril now? I said the thread had 4000 posts - not that my reply was #4000. Be specific and precise - otherwise you'll confuse your readers when you write stories.
BTW, someone told me that the two top journalism schools in the country are Northwestern (Medill) and Missouri. I told them that had to be wrong because you were a writer and I can't see a top school letting you in. :p J/K of course - congrats on being in a top notch progam.

But.... wouldn't the original post count as a post as well? If it doesn't, then what is it????
RE: Mizzou. Thanks. Kinda scary that I'm at a "beacon" of a j-school eh? Sometimes I wish I went to an easier university where I could have a lot more fun. But that piece of paper may be worth it in the long run.
I looked at NW, but they only had "communications" and no real J-School so I passed. Is that really true?

The Medill School of Journalism (at NU) is regularly listed as the #1 or #2 journalism school in the nation by the types of publications that rate those sorts of things. The school single handedly caused a moratorium on the death penalty in Illiinois because of their investigative journalism. Maybe when you called them asking if they had an undergrad journalism school after looking at their web page with details for an undergrad journalism degree, they figured you didn't have enough gray matter to get in.
My post was #4,001. That means there were still 4000 posts in the thread - the post before me hit that mark and I made a note of it in mine. I guess I should have been a bit more precise in my wording. Then again, I'm not a journalist or a lawyer. :p

I knew that Wilbon went there, and I read somewhere (no idea where) that it was "communications" so I didn't pursue it. It wasn't ever seriously considered,

Wow.... Seacrest does do that "Seacrest OUT!"..... and Emeril does do "BAM!"... so I don't look too original. Wow... I never consciously thought that; I just pick up on some catchphrases and then repeat them ad nauseum.
HIGH FIVE!

What a great pic, Ted. You all look so happy. Is it because the little dude is sleeping? :p

Actually, yes, he's sleeping 4-5 hours at a time during the night = Happy Parents.

I think the matching shirt thing looks a bit silly. You're better off without it.
You have a beautiful family, Ted. Your older son looks a lot like you.
