Hah, just messin' with ya Keith. I picked up on the driving range thing thanks to the large bucket of bright yellow golf balls. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Chicago is a great place; I loved it.

I put these in my log. But, in case you don't check it out, here are some links to pics from my race on Saturday. I can't upload them without purchasing so I had to link. I am #413.
That's the one at the west end of Millenium Park - has the faces of Chicagoans projected on a glass pillar, and in the summer, water will come out of their mouths periodically.
PS: Well, Kev, with that attitude about NYC and Chi-town, we'd get along well even with the Fighting Irish issue.
K: Yea, thats the one. I couldn't find any of my pics with the pillars in it. This was in early July, so they were spittin out water. Chicago was a great experience. I'm proud of where I come from, and I'll take on anyone who makes fun of the way I talk :p but Jersey ain't the place for me. I really wouldn't be surprised if I ended up in Chicago, and I wouldn't mind it at all. I think NYC is great for its diversity, there's so much stuff to do there, and it's a great city, but there was something that struck me about Chicago. I just fell in love with it. Originally, we weren't going to visit Chicago, we were going to head home after a week in South Bend after my baseball camp, but I fought my parents, arguing 1) if we're going to drive 12 hours out, we have to go the extra 2 hours to visit the place, and 2) since they forced me to go to a flee market in the middle of nowhere in Indiana or Illinois or something, they owed me. :p
Kaiser, there was this huge mirror bean thing:
I didn't understand the point of it at all. Just wondering if you knew the story behind its existance, because I didn't have a clue as to why it's there, as shown in this pic: :p
As for that Notre Dame thing, I can't help it. :p Since I gained the ability to listen, my great uncle has been preaching God, Country, Notre Dame to me; it's just something that was constantly fed into me at every family party :p Honestly, at #2, I thought they were way overrated, especially with their secondary, which flat out sucks, the loss of their two
best linebackers, and their inability to rush the passer.

thanks for the tips. i'm no tiger woods, but when i just think about swinging smooth and don't over think it i can make some good contact. and yes, my left elbow is bent but overall it was a great time at the country club.
kaiser:
it was a one day affair in chi-town (August 21st). My brother's father in law took us to a Cubs games (against the Phillies, which they lost), but before my brother and I checked out some of the sights. First we ate at a really good diner (Lou Mitchell's) near the Sears Tower. Then we drove over to Grant Park and walked around a bit...From the Buckingham Fountain, then over to Lake Michigan, then to Soldier Field. And we actually still had some time to kill before the Cubs game, so we went over to The Art Institute of Chicago where we saw some magnificent pieces. And finally to the Cubs game. I'd definately like to come visit Chicago again...maybe next time we can meet up for diiner & some drinks.

It's a sculpture called Cloud Gate, but everyone just calls it the bean. It's actually pretty cool and if you lied down and took a pic of your self at the right angle, it could look like you are climibing down a wal a la Spiderman.
Being raised a fan of a particular team: I can understand as my older son is indoctrinated on NU - good thing for education, not so great for sports (unless you are a lacrosse fan, in which case the women's team just won back to back national championships from the powers out east).
Location: Philly on one side, Pittsburgh on another, the Green Between...

New York is my favorite city on the East Coast, with Boston close on its heels. I used to really enjoy my business trips to New York, because they usually meant about 1-2 hours in a meeting and then I was out sightseeing until midnight. And I still haven't seen a fraction of what there is to do. Maybe in 2009, when my wife and I are planning a 20th anniversary trip there!
Chicago is great as well. It's in my genes - I was conceived there!

Good pics, Jim. It's really cool that you were able to nap right in the middle of the race. (see 2nd pic)
