This I just do not get... Has anyone here ever been to http://strengthnspeed.tripod.com/ ? It is a decent site. Not bad, but not fabulous either. Some good articles, but looks homemade. Here is the part that irks me so...

Their traffic rank on Alexa is 121!!!!

What gives? Jeez, I was only planning on getting into the top 10,000 sites this year, like Mens Health. How in the hell do these guys get a traffic ranking this high? Maybe there is some trick that I am not seeing. This is a good question for TS who seems to know all about this kind of stuff. Or anyone else who knows about things like this.

I'll give it a shot! You're forum has answered a lot of my questions (thank you all for that), so I'll answer one of yours.

It's pretty easy to set up a computer "bot" that does nothing but hit a web site increasing their hit count. They do this to show potential advertisers that their web site is visited a lot and would be a good site for them to put their ad on. Or to get "most popular" types of web site awards.

Thanks for the answer. That is aggravating that someone can take a cheaply produced site that has only mediocre information could rank so highly. Grrr.

Glad to have you on the forum. Welcome!

True, it's very aggravating. Even for people like me that don't want to advertise but just want to visit a site that has a high hit count because it's a good and popular site, not because some clown has a computer set up to hit the site on a regular basis. But, rest assured, sites like that usually don't last long. It's the true quality sites that always have longevity. I haven't been on this site long but my thoughts are that this site has longevity! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the welcome!
