I know this is totally OFF TOPIC but I noticed a California license plate on a vehicle the other day and it had seven characters. I thought that the likely reason that there are seven is that the population has gotten so large that six won't do it anymore for the foreseeable future. We still have six in Texas. Are there other states with seven? Made me think that, if they base this on population, Montana might still have three on theirs!

Just curious....

North Carolina has had seven figures for as long as I can remember. Of course, I also think NC has more miles of paved road than any other state, AND we have more cars sitting in front yards with weeds growing up around them, hence the need for more license plates in the highly unlikely event that Bubba and Bobby Joe will finally get that Dodge Duster on the road again

OH and AR use 6, but personalized plates can have 7. IN uses 7 on a regular basis as does IL.

Interesting fact here. It is possible to relocate the entire population of AR to the city of Houston, TX and still have room for a couple million guests!!

Of course! Would you expect anything less?? It is:

FABRC8R

The local Revenue office worked very well with me. I'd come up with a personalized plate and ask them if it was taken yet. They'd check their computer and tell me "yea" or "nay". I sent the ladies up there a candy bouquet for all their hard work and patience in dealing with my NUMEROUS phone calls!

That's a good one for you too! Very appropriate for your industry. Too bad no one will ever be able to read it to appreciate that since you pass people too quickly for them to even see your plate!

Seriously guys... You should ride with Bond some time. He lives up to his screen namesake! We rode up together to Heber Springs one day in his souped-up little beemer, and when we took curves he had to slow down to 90!

Bond, you may have missed your calling... should have raced cars!

Hey, just last year the Department of Finance and Administration entered in an agreement with Wal-Mart, of all places, to also handle vehicle registrations.

I'd have to go with 'Used to be his' as Fishr said. I think I've seen that one before.
