Recently on NPR, someone--I think a statistics professor-- on one of the talk shows explained that if you got 30 people together, the chances were quite good that 2 of them would share a birthdate. By "quite good" he meant much, much better odds than the 2 out of 365 that you would think, in fact more like 1 out of 2. It doesn't sound right, but...
Today happens to be my birthday. This morning when I walked into the gym at 7, a friend who knew what day it was for me called out happy birthday. Another guy who usually works out at the same time called out, "Hey, guess what? I'm 42 year old today! ."
And there were only 15 people there at that point.
The mother of one of the 6 women my wife works was also born on January 7. (So was one of my uncles. And, my two sons were born on the same date, 3 years apart.)
Any other January Seventhers here?
